  1. Not sure N3 as I no longer use that one but out of curiosity, why do you want to empty the history? I just did it in Pale Moon on this Windows 8.1 pc and it emptied fine. Not sure why it wouldn't.
  2. I missed the 2540 at $49.99 Cyber Monday and that one has an ethernet port besides but other than that they are the same.
  3. This is a stellar buy on a good quality All-in-One that really is $99 elsewhere. 7. As long as the internet is connected as you have found out, Malware can creep in and networks that are open are all suspect! You might want toi let Pete take a look at some logs Mike.
  8. Where N3 are you talking about browser and if so which one?
  9. This all sounds very exciting.....I look forward to finding something to install this on but I continue on selling everything I build as fast as I build them and this will be a year I never forget.

  13. From Ken Dwight's Newsletter (the Virus Doctor): An update on a new category of virus called Poweliks. This has become one of the most widespread pieces of malware in the past two months, and removing it is significantly different from anything we have faced before. Here is my latest update on it: Click here:Here
  14. Kingston SSDNow V300 Series SV300S37A/240G 2.5" 240GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) REVIVE YOUR COMPUTER. Get more life out of your computer and maximize your existing investment by replacing your old hard drive with a Kingston® SSDNow V300 solid-state drive. It’s the most cost-efficient way to dramatically improve the responsiveness of your system — and it’s less disruptive than migrating your data to a new system. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820721108&ignorebbr=1
  15. Well I finally solved it and feel pretty stupid.....I finally found the time to open up the unit and the mount for the ssd drive contained the Samsung 128 gb drive and the 240 gb San Disk drive and the Samsung drive was the one plugged in holding the OS. So easy remedy, egg on face and its over! Interesting enough this drive is brand new and as well as the 2 yr old Samsung drive improved the speed of the unit, it is noticeably faster now.
  16. I ran Nod32 and Mbam Pro for years without an issue except a registration issue one time, I just think the time for Mbam has come is all and there has to be better out there. Cindy it is hard to predict when a software is going downhill but its always going to happen.
  17. I have been worried for over a year since I had a few units where Mbam did not remove or even detect Av 2014 versions and I have never felt its site detection is that good either. When other programs start to have better scan results, that's when we really need to concern ourselves. I knew that sooner or later some software maker would finally make a total product effectively and none of the existing Antivirus makers have ever done so so I felt it would take a "new kid on the block" to do that. At first I thought that product would be Hitman Pro, and it is a useful scanner, but is not across the board enough to be a complete solution is the conclusion I came to after playing with both for a year.Just as Sas was "king of the hill" of the hill until it wasn't, I feel Mbam is about due to give that status up! Don't think they know it? Why else go from lifetime subscription to renewable? Grab all the cash you can before you go down! Ad Muncher is a great example of this. Just as they were about to lose it they did the same thing. They aren't stupid.
  18. As stated in another thread this client is one I have had many infection issues with and her husband is a heavy duty gamer with a hot Amd 8 core pc that it shares a network with so I decided this would be a good test for my new Emsisoft relationship. Installed on the Dell Inspiron 2020 I was a little concerned with the length of time to update the new install because while on Comcast everything is quick, I have still many Verizon Dsl clients with very slow service and this software updates fully after install. A call to my contact provided me with a better site to download the install from. A site that has the updates included as Emsisoft.com seems it does not do. I installed Emsisoft and ran the "Quick Scan" and I had just cleaned this system a week ago and it has WD and Malwarebytes Pro on it as well as WOT and Adblock Plus and was surprised and actually quite excited about the fact I pulled another 30 infections out of the registry doing the "Quick Scan". I decided the client should do the longer scan on his own and he will let me know if anything else showed up but what was pulled are genuine infections. Not enablers or pups which means there is a need for Emsisoft even when good products are installed onboard. For that reason I am leaning towards ending my relationship with Mbam and only time will tell. On my own systems nothing new showed up doing full scans with Emsisoft.
  19. On a Windows 7 Dell Inspiron 2020 All-in-One with 4 gb ram and an Intel i-3 cpu 2nd Generation that I have worked on quite a few times it seems I have been there 3 times in the last year to clean up infections. Not a cheap pc, we decided to replace the hard drive with an ssd drive since the prices have come down so much and the user is sick and tired of how slow it is. Since I won a similar pc I was sure the ssd drive would make a huge difference and we were ready to reinstall Windows anyway since the issues just cannot seem to go away with normal cleanings. I had scanned with several different products for rootkits and did not see any, mainly "M-Bar" and "Rootkit Remover". I was worried that the i-3 and onlky 4 gb ram might not run as well as I thought but this All-in-One is now a "screamer". I cannot believe the difference and it is like learning about the advantages of an ssd drive all over again. The drive I used is an A-Data 256 gb for $99 and I am seriously impressed with it because unlike the other Ssd drives I have purchased, this one had a mounting sleeve as well as the drive but the "hype" never mentioned it. I also decided to go away from my traditional protection and make this my first Emsisoft trial pc and am I glad I did but I will go into that in another thread.
