  1. Looking good, Rich. I run the rear fan wires under the card and mostly out of site.
  2. Thanks Bob. A nice addition and sure members will have a lot of enjoyment.
  3. Working well with Firefox. Not as good with IE but that could just be my Puta. I find page scrolling slower with IE. Not a big deal as I mostly use FF.
  4. Failure rates seem to scale linearly with size I have been reading. 2TB Drives from nearly every manufacturer have twice the failure rate of 1TB Drives. I like Western Digital, Under heavy load I find they are somewhat noisy.Still my choice. Worst I have experienced has been Hitachi. Three out of three failed before Warrany expired thankfully. One lasted 1 week. For all my computers I run SSD's now and keep the Sata's for storage and Clones of each OS.
  5. That's -12c That's freezing. No wonder the cans are popping.
  6. You both missed the point I was trying to make.If a computer tech was known to me, that's a different story. If you rang someone out of the paper I would like to know if he was trained or self trained. I wouldn't like just anybody using my expensive computer as a dummy so he could learn on my computer with trial and error. I still think if Mike just learning to repair computers it would be a positive doing some course to further increase his knowledge so he would have both theory and practical experience at the same time and learn quicker. I didn't do a course and I fix my own computers and I give them what for, believe me. If I was repairing computers for a living then I would increase my knowledge further.
  7. There are plenty of courses on the net to learn IT and Computing, Mike. Which you get a diploma or degree as such. Then you can proudly display on your wall. Some courses are free by the way. Happy New Year.
  8. If I knew nothing about computers, I certainly wouldn't let anyone fix my computer that didn't have proper accreditation.
  9. You really have to run the SSD benchmark test to get a true picture, regardless of what spruiking one reads. http://ssd.userbenchmark.com/
  10. :big_grin:OMG.:yikes: https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/k1bG2EPGmI0?autoplay=1&vq=hd720&rel=0&showinfo=0&start=82&end=321
  11. How can you seriously recommend "CHROME" with it's privacy issues? There is nothing about it to like.
  12. I never thought of that, Bob. Good Idea.
  13. I will go back to an earlier version and see what gives, Bob. EDIT. I went back to version 34.5 and stopped updates. Still the same issue. This is a pain.
  14. I read that post as well and was gobsmacked.:yikes: That genius comes out with some whacked out opinions.Hope members and guests don't believe everything he sprouts. He is a legend in his own mind and implies all other Techies are playing catchup to his expertise.
  15. I am really getting annoyed that on most sites they load OK but the Tab hourglass often never stops spinning. I look down and the site is loading all the crap imagineable like Google analytics, connecting to facebook and the list goes on and on.This site is no exception. Loads quite fast though. Funny thing with IE 11 the hourglass stops in seconds. Work that one out. I need Firefox because I have 10 pages of Speed Dial links.:( I prefer IE to FF anyday.
  16. And the person who thought this up is laughing all the way to the bank. There are so many stupid people on the net. Sometimes I wonder what is holding their ears apart. I was amused when he broke it in half what he expected to find. Maybe a fortune cookie.:funny:
  17. Thanks Cindy. Excellent read.
  18. Thanks Bob. At last my avatar is animated.
  19. Thanks for your recommendation, Cindy.
  20. Smart decision. Always best to be sure.
  21. I need a Laser printer. Can't decide on what Brand.
  22. I have 2 Intel SSD's. They are very quick and read and write speeds are good.
  23. I see where your coming from now, Rich. I strongly believe in magnets. I owned a large Carpet cleaning company with franchises which I got out of in 1999. Believe it or not I still get an odd call for carpet cleaning because some still have magnets on their fridge 15 yrs later.Magnets work.
