  1. I agree Cindy. Whatever "Wise Uninstaller" leaves behind there is a reason for it. When searching for remnants with "Everything" use extreme caution in what your deleting. Further registry entries are normally left in the registry to ensure smooth operation of your computer.:)
  2. I use Wise uninstaller then search with "Everything" Wise uninstaller will show every program and also every P.U.P secretly installed. Other uninstall programs will not show everything in 64 BIT. I like the "force uninstall" option. Also all your Windows updates without having to go navigating for them.
  3. My sister has the top of the line Toshiba (over $2000 here) and it's awesome. I want one.
  4. I would still buy a Lenovo if I needed a new Laptop for my wife, regardless of this recent revelation. Have a HP which has given no trouble but the screen clarity is terrible, and wouldn't buy another HP.
  5. Frogboy lives in Western Australia on the other side of our Country. 4000 klms to the west.
  6. Yes Gary. I am 1000klms to the south of this Cyclone. I have relations in the area. Waiting to hear from them.
  7. This is quite a storm. Click on the images. http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=images+of+cyclone+marcia&FORM=HDRSC2#view=detail&id=9CAEAE384F1936351527C501AB8D717A28E3517C&selectedIndex=10
  8. At last you have found your home and part of our Family.:) Put your bad experiences on other Forums out of your mind. Life is too short to dwell on the past.:)
  9. You are experienced mate and realize you are only trying to help others. I was pulling your chain, mate.
  10. I am experienced enough to sense if my computers have a problem and know where to look. This is not a car. A warning light is there for a purpose the same as popup warnings are. Don't try and fix something that ain't broke. You only run tests if you sense a problem, not sit there all day looking for problems.
  11. Never had a use for it. I only use tools when I have an issue. Why should I use it???
  12. Can you even imagine what they are exporting. On the news here today, crumbed frozen fish "product of Australia" was actually fish caught in the atlantic ocean by Asian trawlers and the sent to 3 countries for processing. How is that for a footprint? http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/nsw/australian-made-fishs-long-journey-from-the-atlantic-ocean/story-fni0cx12-1227226163154?nk=267194f0c786f9321817b43ee7476f3c
  13. This nearly made me sick reading this article. Much of our frozen foods here are from china and never checked by authorities. http://qz.com/81114/chinese-crackdown-reveals-rats-pesticides-and-chemicals-were-on-nations-dinner-plate/
  14. It could be conflicting with another program installed in your case, Rich. I just am not having any issues with 3 computers to the sites I visit. My wife buys everything online and I fully expected if there was an issue it would show up on her computer. She is always on sites selling just about anything you care to mention and no blocks. I just checked the Add Muncher log and in 10 days has blocked 10,488 adverts on this computer so more than happy. I unchecked installing the Tool Bar on each computer. No software is perfect, even OS's.:)
  15. I am having no such issues you speak about, Rich. I can pull up EBAY Amazon Newegg any and it hasn't blocked any sites on my Computers. Give me some links to test, Please.:) Sure your not getting ADD Muncher confused with your site advisor or AV popups.???
  16. I use these cheapie lcd torches all the time. $1.50 at chinese variety shops here. They are throw away when flat as the batteries cost more than the torch. I buy 6 at a time. Brilliant for working inside Computers. Great for finding your way in the dark to raid the fridge late at night.
  17. I am using now free "Add Muncher" and works a treat. I won't give the time of day to add blocking programs (AdBlock Plus) that whitelist adds through wheeling and dealing. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=5995140
  18. So many software downloads include Chrome which I hate for privacy reasons. With Avast even if you choose custom install you get Chrome regardless. No option to delete Chrome.
  19. Your job is certainly demanding, BOB.:)
  20. I have used the trouble shooter and found it leads to a dead end in a lot of cases. I am not a fan. I have had more success with Microsoft "FIXIT"
  21. Donna passed away about 3yrs ago. She spent a lot of her time on CNET. She died too young.
