  1. Yes Cindy. It wasn't turned on during the install. Canon Printer. I will reinstall the drivers and see what gives. I did check Device Manager and all seemed OK immediately I got that error. The printer is nearly new and worked OK before this latest install.
  2. It gave an error on install completion. "Driver supporting Menu EX not installed"
  3. They were right about a long install.:)
  4. That's really Cool. I like your Desktop very much, Cindy.
  5. This is my Desktop at the moment. It is an "Out of bounds" edit I did in Photoshop. Still leaves plenty of room for Icons (not shown) and the shortcuts look colourful on the black background. Better half has the same with a blue background. Loves it.
  6. I agree smaller PSU's would be an advantage. This latest build has the PSU at the bottom and I believe it aids cooling by having it at the bottom. Creates better cool air circulation. I raised my Tower off the floor to help it not picking up so much unwanted particles. The tower I bought is huge. A Cool Master HAF and heavy as well. I am very fussy about untidy wires. I run all the PSU wiring where possible out of sight and use cable ties. Cooling is good at the moment after 10hrs running CPU 26c Mobo 27c Graphics 27c Both HDD's 25c. I do use a decent cooler as well.
  7. I have removed Windows8.1 as I use Windows7 anyway. Windows10 TP runs much better than I expected at this early stage. I was half expecting freezes and BSOD's. That hasn't happened.
  8. I think your making out Ad-muncher was worse than it really was, Rich. Those years ago it was the only program we had that really worked and I was thankful for it. Now it is past it's used by date as far as add blockers go.Some years since I have even used it. I don't even want it for free now.
  9. Amazing how technology has come ahead in leaps and bounds. I downloaded Microsoft Office a couple of weeks ago, and was downloading at 7000+KB/S I thought WOW.
  10. By the specs looks like a very good Rig, Rich. I just built another Rig (Boys and their Toys) I always want one faster. I have a need for speed.
  11. :big_grin:Windows Defender may have a bug in it if it actually caught something, Rich.:yikes:
  12. Like to hear about the strange experience, Bob. Strange things happen and we can't always explain.
  13. Had some wild storms here yesterday including hail, and more promised for today. Photos http://www.9news.com.au/national/2014/10/13/18/38/wild-weather-across-new-south-wales
  14. I always disable Windows Defender. It sucks IMO.
  15. I like FireFox and IE 11. There is no such thing as the perfect browser, however these two I mentioned are as close as one can get, in my opinion.
  16. That could have been the case, Rich. I just check "new posts" now and all seems to work OK. Thanks for your input.
  17. I have that one. I could have sworn "recent posts" was next to "search forums" on the left hand side. New posts gets me there anyway.
  18. My "recent posts" option has vanished from next to "Search Forums" up the top below the header. Was there.
  19. I do like the revised Notification pop out. I don't like Search and Task view even being in the Task Bar as they take up space which I use for quick launch of my favourite programs and browser switching. Hope enough testers complain and adjustments made before official release.
  20. I wish I had of known it was possible, Cindy. I read somewhere that the only option was a fresh install of the previous OS which I did. Takes time to get a fresh install tweaked the way it was.
  21. Thanks Cindy.:)
  22. Wondering how many posts one has to have before losing the "Junior" tag and becomes a member?:) Thanks.
  23. Thanks Frank very much. Will try that route. EDIT. Found where I went wrong. I missed a step I have egg on my face. As usual, not enough sleep. Thanks Frank.
  24. Hi Frank. Yes I right clicked on Notepad and selected "Run as Administrator" No issues with other OS's. Be interested if it is happening to anyone else.
