  1. I ran the Recovery again and now anytime I restart I am seeing that BSOD only for a split second before it goes to windows but the system still does not recognize the DVD rom, the Sound and USB. I tried installing the chipset and audio drivers from HP's site but no change, does this mean that the DVD, USB port and sound module is shot?
  2. What I have decided to do is not get an all in one touchscreen pc, since I already have a couple of machines around here with much better specs than that older unit, I will purchase a touchscreen monitor with a base so I can wall mount it or move it around whenever needed. Also, since I have more than one pc around here, if any hardware problems develop I will have more options than an all in one. So my next step is find one of the better touchscreen monitors around. My research is showing the "ELO" is one of the top "commercial" brands around? So something like should work and is very affordable? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Elo-Touchscreen-Monitor-ET1919L-8CWA-1-GY-G/311084734315?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D24351%26meid%3Dc8803dc95de74ef58a87e3b8e4aef932%26pid%3D100005%26prg%3D10335%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D311084590427&rt=nc
  3. Anyway, The recovery did not recognize either the DVD drive nor the Sound and I still keep getting that BSOD message, I tried Startup repair, that did not work. I would like to try to reload Vista from a retail disk but in the boot order, the only option showing is the HDD, in the BIOS I am seeing all boot options are showing and no matter what I select to boot off either a USB cd drive or internal cd rom, none of them works?
  4. Not sure if I can afford one with those exact specs right now but that's a great start, thanks!
  5. About an hour ago, I played around with all the wires then got it to work again but I think this old unit won't do as now it's overheating and freezing after playing music for only 30 minutes or so. I will purchase a newer touchscreen monitor and work off of my music pc. I am thinking of getting one like this but not sure which 'specs" I should look for in a touchscreen monitor?
  6. That's what I have always done myself but just wondering why those other numbers?
  7. Person brought this unit, I attempted a factory recovery to this HP Pavilion Entertainment PC laptop but I am getting the BSOD and researching online I am finding different causes and solutions but let ask this first for learning experience, since there is more than one set of numbers, which ones should I research please? Technical information: STOP: 0x0000009F [0x00000003, 0x8121B3A0, 0x81329F18, 0x835AA428]
  8. yes, to open the cover all the way out I had to unplug what I think is the video connector but replacing it back very snugly should have returned things to normal?
  9. Thanks Cindy, will do and report back here but now I have different problem, putting back the cover now when i boot up the unit, the screen doesn't show any video, just a blank grey color.
  10. Bought it off a guy here in Queens but he got it from someone else. What's the SIW software?
  11. I can't get any info on the maker of this touchscreen pc, the System info showed: Via Technologies and Model CLE266-8235 when I contacted them, they wrote: Hello,Thanks you for your email. Please not we do not sell any systems in the end-user market. We do not sell any products which match the desription you have. Most likely the manufacturer utlizes our chipsets/motherboard for the system. The CLE266-8235 refers to an old VIA north + south bridge chipset which supports our VIA Eden®, VIA Antaur™, VIA C3® x86 cpus. However without more details we cannot be sure which you have. Thanks in advance, VIA Marketing Taiwan
  12. Since this touchscreen pc has a built-in graphics chip and no expansion slots I am guessing my only option would be to purchase a new modern touchscreen pc which has a much more powerful graphics chip?
  13. So the pc's processing power/speed and ram would be unrelated to the lag problem? So this would mean it's a graphics issue only?
  14. My touchscreen pc has lag problem "when scrolling", otherwise the reaction time is good. I am suspecting this older pc as being the cause of the lag since it's only 1gb RAM and the processor should be around a 2.0 Pentium, the jukebox software [Etouch] which I am using, it's developer said "Disk access is also a thing you will want to look at. I use an SSD as the boot drive where E-touch is installed". What do you guys think, what would be the best I can do to speed up that lag time? Get the fastest HDD available, or use a more powerful touchscreen pc, or would this need a touchscreen pc with the best graphics card?
  15. Believe it or not Rich, now the files are showing again, I have no idea what the heck happened there.
  16. Yesterday I bought a brand new 500GB WD external drive to load one of my music collections for my Macbook Air but my pc would not recognize it so I reformatted it from Journaled to MS-DOS on the mac, connected to my pc then copied the 408gb music files to it, this morning when I checked, the files were no longer showing and strangely enough in My Computer, that drive is showing 41gb Free of 465gb. I then checked the Folder Options but the the "Show hidden files" was checked, any ideas please?
  17. I have a massive collection of music from the 40s till today in all popular genres so yes I like some rap depends on the song itself, even my older son gave up great jobs to pursue a career in music [much to my dislike], here's his new group here: https://www.facebook.com/Officialrebelnation he's the one with the cap and beard and dressed all in Red.
  18. Yeah, I'm big on music and most of my income comes from helping people with all of their music needs working with any digital device. This system is great for entertaining as you don't have to worry to play music yourself to entertain everyone since this system is child's play to use, matter of fact that's why I bought it for the kids to use. It can also be use as an automated playback system so you simply load your fav playlists, kickback and enjoy. If any of you guys would be interested in getting or building such a system, feel feel to let me know and I will guide you through everything [for free of course:)].
  19. No worries Cindy, I purchased a touchscreen jukebox pc, the software looks something like this, very easy to setup and use on any touchscreen device:
  20. Yes, I found it, it is a tiny silver button which I had thought was a rivet, thanks!
  21. Hey guys, I purchased a used touchscreen but not seeing a power button to turn on, I touched the screen too but nothing, there isn't a sticker anywhere on this unit so i don't know the brand or model, any ideas please?
  22. ok, next issue [so soon? :) ], out of the 3 drives, the best one reads only 2gb but I think this a 4gb drive if I can remember correctly and when I look in "My Computer" I see A, C, D and F so this suggests to me that the drive should have been partitioned hence the extra "F" drive, how/where can I find out if this drive has been partitioned and if it is, how can I un-partition it? Thanks.
  23. Alright Bob and others, got this sucker up and running with windows 98, appreciate the help!!!
  24. Got it to go to windows, this hard drive has win 95 on it and the mouse does not work, I want to install win 98, how can I know if the bios needs to be updated?
  25. I have no choice but to throw out this pc now as I don't if anything can be done but I would like to ask this question just for the knowledge and would appreciate an answer. Whenever you come across a pc that needs repairing and since most sources say that in order for a Boot disk to be successful, it has to be made on the pc itself, is there anything you can do or do you simply condemn it? If so, then what would be the purpose of a site like Bootdisk.com if the disk has to be made on the pc in question? Doesn't make any sense at all to me, can anyone explain this please?
