  1. Am I correct that this simply cannot be done with the convention soundcard that comes with every pc, that is the one that has just 1 lineout? So this means that I will have to get either another sc or replace the existing sc with one that has more outputs?
  2. I would like to run 2 separate music programs and would like to run each program to a different set of speakers, can I use 2 soundcards to do this or is there any way to do this using just the one soundcard that comes with the pc?
  3. In this particular case, I am talking about network connections.
  4. 1] Handheld Mouse Remote 2] Mini pc ok, so what I gather from your answer, when one program uses the common [port 80] then you have to manually assign a port for each other device thereafter, is this correct?
  5. How many ports are there in a pc? If I try to run 2 or more remote stuff I would get a message saying that the port is already in use, so how can I add more ports?
  6. I tried using both Notepad and Wordpad and all I see is something that looks like Russian writing. I think one of the problem is choosing the File type in the drop down box, I can only get the folder that contains the script to open if I select "All files" from the drop down menu, help?
  7. I am working on a project and one of the instructions is for me to open a script file with the extension .php. I have no idea what or where this windows editor is, I have XP home edition, can anyone shed some light on this please? Thanks.
  8. That was the very first thing I tried Gavin but found 2 problems using that magnifier, one, when the section of the interface was magnified it was blurry and two, I could not get the section when magnified to fit the sceen as the windows magnifier has limitations, thanks for the input, anything else?
  9. My music software's interface is made up of a few different sections, playlist area, track library, left deck, right deck areas e.t.c. I would like to resize only 1 of those sections to fill the entire screen, if not, then as big as possible. I have searched the net for a resizer for this but have only come across "window" resizers, since my software is not made up of separate windows, this won't work so I need somehting that will enlarge certain sections of a page, pic or interface. The closest thing I have seen that might help is an image resizer software that took a pic of a child in a yard and was able to crop the image of the child and made the image of the child much bigger, I have written to them but haven't gotten a reply so I am asking here if any of you guys may know of something or have any leads/advice that might help? Thanks.
  10. Thanks, that's exactly what my wife told me also, just wanted to check here to get other opinions..
  11. They are in C/Windows/system32, I thought that they would have had a separate "folder" just for the screensavers, thanks.
  12. I downloaded a few screensavers and got 3 Pup [potentially unwanted programs] in my pc, when I did a virus scan 3 adware programs showed up; 1] If I were to "delete" those 3 adware programs will I still have be able to keep and use the screensavers? 2] If the answer to question 1 is "no" then if I were to "quarantine" the 3 adwares, would I be able tokeep and use the screensavers? 3] I really love those screensavers and would like to keep them, if the answer to 1 and 2 is "no", keeping the adwares in my pc as they are, would this do any "harm" at all? If so, what harm can those adwares do? Thanks.
  13. I am trying to find the base folder of the windows screensaver so I can download other screensavers into it. When I go to Control panel/display/screensaver/settings I don't see the name of the folder that contains the windows screensavers, help anyone?
  14. Big problem, I just realised that all of the games have "background" music and was told on a game forum that I could use an "emulator" to remove the background music to keep only the fx but I don't understand what an emulator is and does, can anyone here explain this to me please? Thanks.
  15. Thanks, someone else told me to simply start the recording and then bring up the game and then stop the recording after I have heard the fx's that I want, then I can use an editing software to separate different fx's, my only problem with this is trying to find games that don't have any "background" music becuase I can't separate the fx from the background music.
  16. I would like to record some sounds from one of those Arcade games on Nickelodeon for personal experiments and NOT for commercial use of any kind but when I open a game it fills the whole screen so I can't get to use Windows Recorder, is there any way that this can be done please? Thanks.
  17. I am having trouble adding/deleting stuff in my Coolmon display and would like to know if there is any other program out there like it that I can try to see if it's easier to work with? Thanks.
  18. I have an EMU PCI soundcard which is what I use most of the times but there are times when I need to use my pc's integrated SC, what's the "fastest" way to switch from 1 card to the other please? Thanks.

  20. This is the only one my search has turned up so far http://www.naturalreaders.com/enterprise_version.htm I have written to the developer to ask some questions, when they reply, I will try it out "if" it will do what I want and will inform you.
  21. Appreciate it Bob, will give the Coolmon a try. Phreakwars, appreciate the link, I especially liked the "Say it" utility and tried it out, a little "too" Robotic for my taste, I would like to have one that sounds more "human" if possible, would you happen to know of any please? Thanks.
  22. Understood, but does Coolmon "slow" down your pc in any way, if so, how much?
  23. 1] I came across a few utilities and was told by many that these things are not worth the effort like "Registry cleaner and Ram Booster" e.t.c, is this true? 2] Seeing that I use a lot of high powered software and sometimes my pc freezes up, I would like to be able to monitor my CPU, Ram usage e.t.c, this looked like something I could use http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file_description/0,fid,23831,findid,46974,00.asp but I was told that this utility will "slow" down my pc, is this true? Is it worth it? If not, is there anything anyone can recommend please? Thanks.
  24. I am having trouble learning about certain aspects of pc math like "Hexadecimals, Binary numbers" e.t.c, can anyone recommend any math course/tutorial which covers this that's simple and easy to understand please? Thanks.
  25. What I would need to know then is if I were to install my older version of XP Pro from scratch, would this hamper my "existing" programs/files/settings in ANY way?
