  1. I've had that happen with Word before. The problem in my case was an inadvertent click on the setting to double space everything. I know not much help, but, maybe that is what happened to you.
  2. I seen the same thing when making Firefox the default.
  3. I have an old XPS 8300 also and Windows 10 did install without problems. Dell has a history of not supporting a new OS on older computers. It's all sales driven for them.
  4. Looks likes nothing is safe anymore.
  5. It sounds like you have it right. You should have cable from gateway to router. Should be plugged in WAN port. Then each device gets plugged into the open ports on the router. If the gateway is one of those gateway/router combos then each device gets plugged into it.
  6. It's about time this was ended. Maybe now the relations between Google and Microsoft will be better. I know if the 2 got together a new age of tech could emerge.
  7. I used a Trackball Explorer for years. I loved it. Too bad Microsoft decided to discontinue it. Now I use a Logitech mouse and would highly recommend them. It took me a while to get used to using a regular mouse again. Once I did I found the controls on the Logitech were perfect and mouse reaction much better. This is the one I use: http://support.logitech.com/product/performance-mouse-mx
  8. I could see how none tech savvy users could get duped by this.
  9. I enjoyed it for a while. Now that I've used it for a while I can take it or leave it.
  10. Says a lot when a company has to something like this. Not someone I would ever do business with.
  11. In all honesty since using Windows 10 for a while now I am liking it less and less. I can't put my finger on the exact things that make me feel this way. I think it's the overall experience. There are some things that used to be easy to do that are more hidden then before. I like to be efficient when I do things. I am finding it to be harder to be efficient with Windows 10. I have been a Microsoft die hard for a long time, but, Windows 10 might make me switch to my Apple box full time or to Linux.
  12. I have seen this. My brother used an online service to deliver his groceries after his stroke. They delivered once a week or more often as needed. I'll see if my niece knows the website. I think she is the one that set it up for him.
  13. I can't believe they took that out of the curriculum. The younger generation are too tech dependent and I think that is going to turn into a major problem. Lina, I used to sign my checks John Hancock although it wasn't very legible and never once got questioned. Probably because it was always deposited and the account was at the issuing bank. I've had direct deposit for years now so I never sign a check. I do have to sign off on invoices to pay vendors and if I wasn't taught how to properly sign my name it would be a problem.
  14. I went to Lutheran schools and they did the same. Handwriting had to perfect as well. I ordered one as well. I am looking forward to it when I get it.
  15. I thought I was the only one with that problem. On a side note. I have always been a hunt and peck type person. I started to take an online typing class about 2 months ago and I can proudly say I can type by touch now and my speed is increasing all the time. I shouldn't have slept through typing class in school. I didn't know what I was missing by not learning how to touch type back them.
  16. I like the looks of that. I need a new keyboard and since the old peepers ain't what they used to be I might have to check it out.
