  1. Our poll question from this past week asked what your initial impressions were of Microsoft's new web browser code named Project Spartan. In build 10049 of Windows 10 on desktops we finally got the first public view of this new browser which is expected to be the default web interface on consumer PC's and other Windows devices. There has been a lot of excitement and anticipation building for this new browser ever since the first rumors of its existence hit the web and we saw the first official public demo back in January. So we wanted to know what you all thought of this new modern browser and it seems overall impressions were fairly positive. On our scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the highest score, 50% of you thought the initial release of Project Spartan was a 4/5 and 25% of you felt it was down at a 1/2 score. Twice as many positive compared to negative impressions. In turn that left 27% you who scored it right in the middle with a 3, neither good or bad, which is along the lines of an OK or so far-so good. Based on some of the comments we had during the poll this makes sense as many had pros/cons about the browser however, they also found it in good shape for a first public release. Hopefully, the progress continues as we look for new builds in the future. Source : http://winsupersite.com/windows-10/poll-results-project-spartan-first-impressions

  11. You will have to convert it using Calibre to RTF (Rich Text Format). You can then open it in Microsoft Word. You should be able to print it out from there. There are instructions on how to use Calibre as well as the download link below. http://calibre-ebook.com/
  12. For the first time in the 20 years that Amazon has allowed users to review products, the company is taking legal action against businesses it claims sells fake reviews to third-party sellers. The Seattle Times reports that Amazon filed a lawsuit Wednesday in a Washington state court against four websites – BuyAmazonReviews.com, BayReviews.net, BuyReviewsNow.com. and BuyAzonReviews.com – and their operators, accusing the companies of an array of illegal business practices that undermine customer trust and the integrity of the online retailer. Amazon says in the lawsuit that it actively monitors its website for “false, misleading and inauthentic reviews.” However, in certain instances that practice hasn’t been sufficient, leading the company to determine legal action was necessary. “Despite substantial efforts to stamp out the practice, an unhealthy ecosystem is developing outside of Amazon to supply inauthentic reviews,” the suit states. “Defendants’ businesses consist entirely of selling such reviews.” The lawsuit details a variety of allegedly illegal practices – including trademark infringement, false advertising and violations of the Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act and the Washington Consumer Protection Act – used by the defendant businesses in order to facilitate the creation of positive paid reviews. For example, Amazon claims that buyazonreviews.com promises that for $19 to $22 per review it will provide five-star write-ups in a “slow-drip” manner as to avoid detection by the retailer. The site also allegedly tells potential customers to “simply ship empty packages in an effort to fool Amazon into believing the reviewer was a ‘verified purchaser.'” GeekWire reports that in one instance, buyazonreviews.com chastised a reviewer for complaining that they had not received a product, telling the company paying for the review: “All our reviewers know of the process and I am not sure as to why she sent this to you but I will ensure it does not happen in the future.” Similarly named buyamazonreviews.com allegedly promised that customers “can have unlimited 4 and 5 star reviews this week,” while Bayreviews.net used Amazon’s logo to advertise “a unique system that generates high quality 5 rating reviews to your Kindle eBook,” the suit states. “Defendants are misleading Amazon’s customers and tarnishing Amazon’s brand for their own profit and the profit of a handful of dishonest sellers and manufacturers,” Amazon claims in the lawsuit. “Amazon is bringing this action to protect its customers from this misconduct, by stopping defendants and disrupting the marketplace in which they participate.” However, the owner of buyamazonreviews.com objects to Amazon’s characterization of the company’s business practices. He tells The Seattle Times that his company simply helps Amazon’s third-party sellers get reviews by connecting them to consumers willing to write those reviews. “We are not selling fake reviews,” he said, noting that in many cases reviewable products are offered at a discount. “However we do provide Unbiased and Honest reviews on all the products. And this is not illegal at all.” Amazon is seeking unspecified damages and requests that the sites cease and desist activities related to the retailer, provide information on each fake review created and the accounts of the people who paid for them. 13. When Microsoft issued the latest build of Windows 10, build 10049, to Windows Insiders last week it had two known issues according to Microsoft. As we have heard from our Ring Master, Gabe Aul, on a regular basis one of the risks associated with getting faster builds is they will come with some challenges. Some of those will be known and others will be unknown and hopefully discovered by Windows Insiders as they test the latest Windows 10 Technical Preview builds. Two such issues were known in build 10049 and now the patches released today fix those very same issues as detailed below: Outlook might not index new emails in Windows 10 Technical Preview Build 10049: After installing Windows 10 Technical Preview Build 10049, Outlook 2013 and Outlook 16 Preview might not index new emails. As a result, new emails do not appear in search results, and if you rebuild the index, no emails appear in search results. Hyper-V cannot be enabled in Windows 10 Technical Preview Build 10049: You cannot enable Hyper-V after performing a clean install of Windows 10 Technical Preview Build 10049, nor after upgrading to Build 10049 from a build that did not have Hyper-V enabled. Just head into Windows Update in the technical preview to download and install these. Source : http://winsupersite.com/windows-10/microsoft-issues-fixes-two-known-issues-windows-10-build-10049
