I keep getting emails from people in my contact list that did not send them. I think it may be a virus hooked to messenger which they may be using but I don't. They did not send the email themselves and don't know how they got sent. The emails say things like ....Hey...I saw this online today and thought you might be interested in checking it out. Then a website address is provided. When I used hotmail someone suggested adding a contact to my list that was something like *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. This would make that contact the first on my list and for whatever reason it worked. The contact is still there but since Outlook took over, I am getting the pseudo emails again. Anyone know why? I recently tried to uninstall MSE using a program called Advanced Uninstaller. It uninstalled and thenscanned for 'leftover'. At that time I checked everything, but there were still 10 items that could not bedeleted. I did not not those items at the time. After many failed attempts, I made a restore point of one week previous and restarted my computer.I then used Revo Uninstaller to try to uninstall the program and I got this message:Microsoft Security Client Installation error:The Microsoft Security Client Installation Wizard can't find files that are necessary to complete theinstallation. To restart this program, please download the installation again from the Microsoft SecurityClient web site again.I did this and got this message:Error code: 0x0070715.I originally tried to uninstall MSE as I wanted to get rid of the constant warning that my computer was not secure.I went to recommendation and was not able to fix it. This might have been a false reading as my computer alwaysstated it was secure. The green light was on.I thought I could uninstall MSE and then reinstall it. No go for now.I am using Malwarebytes in alongside MSE. Love MSE, but wish I had not tried to uninstall it as now I can neither install (saysI already have the program) nor uninstall as mention of the error code above is mentioned. Please help.Cheers,John View this thread

For the last year I have been unable to install these updates. I tried using windows update to do it, I tried to download them manually, I tried to move around all sorts of files and dll's to make it work. None of the advice online worked (surprise). So now I am here. The really crummy part is this is a registered and activated version of Office 2007 and this really should work, but it doesn't. Help me! Windows Vista Home Premium (Premium... yeah right). Service Pack 2 Dell Inspiron I1521 Windows Experience Index 3.0 AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-50 1.6GHz 2GB Ram 32-bit OS. Hello, I really got a problem. It is because when I turned on my computer, all of my apps always disappear, and all of my files will delete everytime I shut down my Windows 8 PC. Everytime I log in, in the Start screen, it always display now the "Store, Internet Explorer, and Desktop" alone. Then I realized that all of my apps were uninstalled. I try to go in the store, and there was 16 updates, but when I attempt to install them, they all failed. It displayed an error of number: 0x80246007. And the other thing is that my files were all deleted. In the desktop there is always a display of "You've been signed in to a temporary profile". Please fix this ASAP. Thank you :) ~ Howell G. I RAN A FULL SYSTEM SCAN WHICH TOOK A FEW HOURS TO COMPLETE. IT FOUND A "JAVA" RELATED VIRUS THAT WAS CAUSING THE ERROW 5013.3 NORTON 360 VIRUS. WHEN THE SCAN WAS COMPLET IT SHOWED THE VIRUS AND REMOVED IT--NO MORE PROBLEMS WITH THIS POPING UP--TRY THIS A LET ME KNOW IF IT WORKS FOR YOU. View this thread

After the last Window XP updates, I faced an internet wifi connection issue.I'm (and other people I know) are getting issue when we try to connect to wifi. One of my friend has windows 7 and got the same problem. Personally, I have two laptops (Thinkpad T43 and T60), the T43 only has been affected. I did many tests (ipconfig tests, ping, etc) and found what could be the issue. I found I was not able to conect to my router. I changed my wifi configuration to no security (no wep or wpa key). At that point I was able to connect to internet. I changed again my wifi security to a WEP key with special characters and was not able to reach my router connection. However, when I changed my WEP key to only alphanumeric characters that worked. With the WPA key I'm not able to connect to my wifi. My laptop is an old one but a friend of mine as a brand new one. I have the feeling that could be a conflict with some brands of wireless adapters. I have an intelpro 2200BG in the T43 a different one in the T60. In my tests, I used all the same configurations than my other laptop which does not have any issue. I used the same radio Channel and values. I would like to get the thoughts from an expert to fix properly the issue Thank you View this thread

When I go to save a Word Document in Word 2007, I navigate to where I want to save the document via the save as box, and the only thing that show up in that location are folders, even though I know that there are already other Word docs in that location. I am not using the generic XP My Documents location, but when I did this with Word 2003 the Word docs as well as folders would show up. I really need to see these pre-existingWord docs as I save any new ones, because they are numbered files and I need to know what number to save this latest Word doc as.. I hope that this explanation makes sense, thank you for your time Pedro. View this thread

Config : Win7 Ultimate 64-bit, 12GB of Mushkin RedLine RAM, Nvidia GTX580, Gigabyte Sniper MB, Intel Core i7-970, latest drivers installed. I've been researching these forums and the Internet in general, I found multiple so-called solutions to the aforesaid errors, done lots of things to my system, obviously to no avail. Even though I have no faith at all in these forums (based on my previous experience while running Vista), I'll make one last masochistic attempt because I've reached my Linux/Solaris engineer limits... I know I have a corrupted file that's probably at the root of this puzzle: C:Usersnobody>sfc /scannow Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.
