  1. I only go to this much trouble for special Mates, but don't expect it every time @DSTM :big_ha:
  2. I know you weren't trying to put me on the spot Mate. Some times I even amaze myself. I should have made more screen shots. All I can say, is I went from used 54GB to 44GB. That's a +10GB of free space. I have done this before and I promise I will will keep better records next time. I'm a clean freak. What else can I say. Windows takes about 27 GB. The other 17GB is spread out between programs pictures, ect!! :whome: I know you Mate. Congrats on your per motion! That's the best I can explain it for now!! The forum gets dull some times and I try to keep it interesting! I did gain 10GB of free space. I promise to keep better records next time Mate!
  3. Hi @starbuck I really hate being a pest. I learn by asking questions. I admire you guys that spend that much time learning about removing malware. I have thought about trying to become a malware expert, but I don't like starting some thing and not finishing. Not sure I have what it takes to spend that much time. I don't want to cause you any problems my friend,so only answer this if you want to. Is there a problem running these programs in this order before asking you for help?? I know you like looking for other things, but would it hurt to run these scanners before asking for your help?? Thank you! Gary!! Malwarebytes Anti Root Kit Adwcleaner Malwarebytes Free ESET on Line scanner JTR
  4. Here's some screen shots of my registry. You can see it hasn't grown much. I keep a clean ship. I know how and I enjoy the challenge.
  5. Yuppers!! I have 92 programs on my PC. 1.8GB . I'm sure I could get rid of some of them, but for right now, I'm keeping them!!
  6. Hey Dougie. A little spring cleaning. 2.14GB with disk cleaner. Removed a bunch of old restore points. Removed some software that I never use. It's some thing I like doing in the spring. I should have saved a screen shot. I just know I went from 54GB used to 44GB. So I say I have 10GB more free space. I should been more precise. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you Mate!! Will do better next time;);)
  7. OK I think it's a little to aggressive for me. It's true I have uninstalled a lot of bloat ware already, but I just don't consider some of those programs bloat ware! Thanks for your replies!!

  17. Hi I'm really bored. Search Every thing also found the Zip file on my desk top! Now that's a cool program also.
  18. Hi! Regedit (F3) did not find all of them, but did find a few.;) I'm really bored!
  19. Yuppers! There are 14 new registry entries in my registry now, after making a zip file with PSR of Paltalk software, which I have setting on my desk top. My program found them. Now that's pretty cool!:coolsun:don't you think @Cats-4_Owners-2 I take pride in learning every thing about my W7. I pretty much know every thing that's on my PC including whats in the registry. I like sharing my knowledge with others; that is the things I haven't forgotten. I don't have or want a fancy title. Just a smile and a thank you once in awhile is enough. When I decide to delete this zip file, I'll remove all these from my registry. I have been around the block a couple of times and some times I act like a smart arse, which is not cool!
  20. Yuppers Orphaned keys can sure cause problems when trying to install a program that didn't get uninstalled properly. Anti-Virus programs come to my mind. I guess I'm just a clean freak and I don't want a bunch of crap in my registry that I don't need. I feel very confident when I go in my registry and left over entries are not welcome in my registry.:D The good old regedit and F3 is good, but I want some thing better! Thank you for your reply;)
  21. Hi! I want a software program that will find every registry entry that a software program puts in my registry. I want it to make a complete list of all the entries that I can delete after I uninstall a program I no longer want on my computer. Is that to much to ask for? Wise uninstaller and Revo and all the other uninstallers leave registry entries behind after you use them to uninstall a program you no longer want. If you install and uninstall a lot of programs, these left over registry entries will build up over time. I know you can use a virtual machine to test software.I'm talking about a program you have installed and have been running, but now you no longer want that program. Sure you can go into Regedit and use the F3 feature to find and delete these left over registry entries. That will work, but that's very time consuming. I just uninstalled Paltalk with Wise uninstaller. It left 50+ registry entries still installed in my registry. I don't want them in my registry. I have a program that will do this, but it's tied in to a registry cleaner, and this forum doesn't approve of registry cleaners. I don't approve of registry cleansers either. I want to make that perfectly clear. I use Search Everything to remove all left over folders after uninstalling a program and it does a great job. Do you have a program that will find left over registry entries after you uninstall a program?? Well then create one, you will be a millionaire.;);) When I get bored, these things occupy my thoughts so I post them here on Free PC Help Forum and get in trouble!:(:(
  22. Hi @shortordercook Here's a good read for you about how you get infected. The best tool you have to stay clean, is your brain! The next best tool is a back up image of your operating system. The scanners I have used here are safe. I would not post them if I didn't think they were safe. If you run them in the order that I did, there shouldn't be a problem. You shouldn't be afraid on the internet, but you need to understand and respect that there are scum bags out there and you need to protect your self. Pete and malware fighters need to know what's going on with your PC. The tools they have you run tell them a lot more than just what infections you have. They tell them what Anti-Virus your running. What needs to be up dated. What's been going on in your event viewer and many other things. After analyzing your reply, they then decide what you need to do to get your PC cleaned up and back on the road. I'm going to flag this post for Pete to comment on.I see no reason why you shouldn't run the scanners that I suggested before seeking help from Pete. If this is not acceptable, I hope Pete @starbuck will respond and correct any thing that is not exceptionable and any thing he disagrees with in this post. I chose this link because it is the first link when you Google "How do I get infected?" http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/2520/how-did-i-get-infected/
  23. Congrats Dougie! Well deserved Mate!!
  24. Hi Mate! You win the prize. I wish we could share this in real time! I use to give them Hell, but have mellowed out a little in the last couple of years. I still manage to get in trouble a lot.:D :clap:
