  1. My link takes you directly to Java. Please keep Java and Adobe up to date. Hackers love to use these programs to infect your PC. You chose the method you want to use. My link will check to see if you have the latest version of both!!
  2. Hi Pete! Not all our members have your computer skills or your knowledge. Being lazy has nothing to do with this. Thank you !
  3. Hi @AWS . Do you have more help forums and can you share the names here om Free PC Help Forum??
  4. Hi Pete! I find your link to be rather difficult for a beginning PC user. The link I posted removes the old version and installs the new versions of both Java and Adobe. You just need to uncheck the ASK tool bar and the uninstall and up date install runs smoothly. It can be rather difficult to remove Java through the Ad/Remove program. Some times there is more than one version to remove . My link removes all the old versions. Also the down load is very hard to find in your link! Also confusing as to which down load to use. Why go to all the trouble to remove these if you all ready have the latest version. Thank you for your reply!!
  5. Sorry Dougie! Didn't know you were replying! IMHO. Those speeds shouldn't cause this. I agree they aren't that great however! Safe mode might give us a clue???? Shouldn't be malware after restoring to factory. Safe mode with networking is a good place to start. I will bow out now!
  6. Hi Restoring back to factory should have taken care of any malware IMHO. What is your OS?? Are you saying that you are connected to your ISP with a USB cable and are not using wireless?? I don't see any problem with your down load speeds. It really sounds like malware to me. A restore to factory should have taken care of malware IMHO. I'm wondering about your HD. Have you tried a chkdsk. If you restored back to factory and still have the same problem, a hardware problem is my guess. I'm sure you will get better advise from those much smarter than myself here on Free PC Help Forum!
  7. Hi fiends! Some thing is wrong with this picture. Please look through the New Introductions section from 2015-2005! 309 threads on 16 pages. We are not going any where! This has to change!! Reason for edit!! OOps forgot the link!! Surely someone here can do the math only 16 introductions in 9+ months. What am I missing here?? Is there a clue some place here?? http://freepchelp.forum/f/20/
  8. WoW That's quite a story @AWS Thanks for sharing. I guess I can still reply. I hope everyone on Free PC Help Forum reads this.
  9. "At the time of the crash the site had 1.5+ million posts and 62 thousand members." That's a lot of members. Sure would be sweet to get all those back. 1/2 would be nice for now. Do you know how many of the oldies have came back to Free PC Help Forum @AWS ?? I know curiosity killed the cat. These are things that pop in my head and make me wonder; if you know what I mean!! Do they not make you wonder also Bob?? I think you know some my thoughts Boss! Why aren't some of these old members showing up?? That just keeps nagging me. I think Dougie is our oldest member and I believe he was probably here when the forum went dead! Are there others??Strange to this old country boy!!
  10. Thanks for link friend! I hope everyone clicks on it. I was impressed. I hope you are also thinking about some of the things we have discussed .;);)
  11. Hi! It's no secret who invited me to Free PC Help Forum.
  12. Hi Boss I saw you were viewing this thread. Can you give us the history behind Free PC Help Forum and what happened, if it's not to personal. I guess I just figure once addicted to a help forum, you would always be addicted. 7 of our new members followed me here. I'm glad to hear the old members have been contacted. Have you had any reply?? Just wondering out load. Time for me to suck up a little my friend. I would always come back to one of your forums no matter what caused it to go dead. I think @shortordercook is also a life time follower Surely some of the oldies still want to help and will come back soon!!
  13. Free PC Help Forum is a old forum that was started in 2003 I believe. Free PC Help Forum had almost 7,000 members when the forum was discontinued. The members I see that log on every day registered in July of 2014. A couple of the old members have recently came back. Six of my friends have registered and they log on and comment regularly. Why aren't the old members coming back to Free PC Help Forum??It's has been up and going nearly 9 months sense ExTs started again. Why aren't we contacting the old members and inviting them to join us. Surely some of you know where they are. These are questions that IMHO are good questions. Do you have any ideas how we can grow just a little faster, or how to contact the old members?? I realize that it takes time for the word to get out, just wondering why it takes this long. I wish I had some good answers. Maybe you do!! Are you on other forums. Invite them to join us here. I know I started a similar thread before, probably lost in archives. Maybe some new members have ideas! Thank you!
  14. Hi You can up date and verify if you have the latest versions of Java and Adobe. You still have to be careful of PUP's https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/200519528-Where-can-I-check-to-see-if-I-am-running-the-latest-versions-of-Java-and-Flash-
  15. Hi! please be careful when up dating Java. Make sure you uncheck the ASK tool bar.
  16. So where did you find these bamboo socks??? :big_ha:
  17. Hi Interesting thread! Why do you need athletic socks?? Do you play professional sports?? I would advise you not to wear those bamboo socks around Panda Bears!!:D:D
  18. Computers are very strange animals. Sorry I don't have a good answer for you! They seem to have a mind of their own! Good luck!!
  19. Hi @mikehende Her's a video you can watch before trying Slim Drivers!!
  20. Hi ! I usually don't recommend this program to members. The best place to get drivers is always from the manufacture. The problem is if the PC is a older model the manufacture may not have the latest up date. I have had really great success with this program here at Golden Oaks. If your wireless isn't working any way, you might give it a try. It has a back up feature that allows you to restore the original driver. The program has some good reviews.
