  1. The downloads are still there, you just follow the links as they redirect you to Microsoft is all.
  2. You can actually get software to read the dumps as the MVP's do but its long and involved process. http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-performance/how-to-read-dumpfiles-after-a-blue-screen-of-death/0d7522e3-4ed1-448e-bda6-66441f042c0c It is so much easier to just Google the error code and you will get enough answers to easily zero in on the issue possibilities.
  3. That's why I made my own using GSD heads of some of my dogs years ago but of course I forgot how I did that! I would love to do it with my GSD avatar here where she has her butt planted on the last stair and her from feet firmly on the floor. Not sure if you all can see that but that is the way she impatiently waits for me to come upstairs with her. She has her head turned slightly so that she is motioning upstairs.
  4. I am convinced the majority of them are using Verizon DSL lists because 98% of my customers who have had these are on Verizon. I mean if you were on Vz and got a call saying we see your internet is dog slow they would most certainly agree and that agreement is the way any good scam artists starts his scam!
  5. I have it running as an Antivirus which it is now on a few client pcs with no problems, but then I am not convinced we need an Av at all these days if we have the proper protection and surfing habits.
  6. I am liking how this looks more everyday Bob. Everything is placed more logically and it seems sharper and the colors are more crisp than ever. One of these days I may actually know how to do something in it and then look out everyone! BTW what on earth is the green dot radiating from my GSD's ear?
  7. You have to do the addons individually in Tools, Addons just like you did in FF N3 but what I would do is export your Bookmarks to a .csv file, which you should do every so often anyway and then simply import them in to Bookmarks in Pale Moon utilizing Organize Bookmarks, Import and backup. It is also possible that as you are installing Pale Moon I think you are asked where you would like to import Bookmarks and settings from, it has been so long since I originally installed it and you can do all that at the time of the install there more easily.
  8. Sounds like you had a program for mouse and keyboard installed for hardware you didn't have. If I were you I would uninstall any Microsoft mouse and keyboard program and any Logitech mouse software as well. None of it is necessary unless you have a keyboard with power keys and use them. Windows has had all you need for mouse drivers since Windows 3.1 already in Windows and software mouse and keyboard programs do nothing but create problems and always have. If you are looking for mouse functions other than basics there is a free program called "Flywheel" that will add any functionality you need without screwing up Windows as mouse and keyboard software always do.
  9. BTW I had the option to download free version...see if this works for you: http://www.macrium.com/Download.aspx?type=home
  10. Hey I owe you one James it worked so the update was $67 for 4 licenses a "win, win"!
  11. Thanks so much for thinking of me and I'll try but I would bet it won't work as they will say the $83 offer is already a discount. I think the full price is $120 so for an update they offered the same sale they offer everyone else. I'll let you know.
  12. I have the standard version and I checked upgrade price is $84 and of course that is a 4 license version, however since I paid that (25% discount) for version 5, I am reluctant to move to version 6 because as an upgrade price that stinks and I have to have paid versions because I do incrementals every week.Of course you can "bet your bippy" that Windows 10 won't work with version 5 so I'll be screwed anyway later in the year!
  13. It was a paid program for years and not cheap and then suddenly went open source.
  14. Sometimes I see them and sometimes I don't, now I am really confused.
  15. Went to do that before and a phone call side tracked me...done now.
  16. So true what a shame what CNET turned into, it used to be an authority years ago everyone looked up to.
  17. Well again see that is where I get the ads...for some reason when I tried it earlier I wasn't getting them on searches in this Win 7 pc but now I am again and I tried searches from the address bar of all 3 browsers and all of them get a second column of ads again and the first two I see on the left side also say "ad". When I use the DuckDuckGo search bar I see none of that.
  18. Yeah don't take offense I forgot to slap in a smiley, something Cindy can tell you I suck at and you are right I am negative on third party software unless there is a real reason for it and these Microsoft solutions usually solve nothing and show you nothing of any value in my mind. I agree with the way Cindy stated it that I can tell when something is wrong with a pc by using it. I don't need utility charts or scanners for that.
  19. I know I said that...not to worry I downloaded it and have been using it for months now and will not redownload it.
  20. No Cindy I would never go there there is a Wise Installer:
  21. OOPs!!
  22. Gary I know that File Hippo and Major Geeks are the only ones that are trustworthy.
  23. Thanks for that it is one thing I never noticed but it is in Pale Moon also. This is one of the reasons I love forums because in these exchanges you cannot help but find new things every day. But Bob what happens if the search thought isn't on the screen anywhere but in your head? You have to type something some where.
