    Yes, you're right. Since according to my research there is no way to uninstall it, I tried installing IE 11 but the exe is not opening, how can I use IE instead of edge please?

    Hey guys, I had to replace a dead HDD on this machine. When I power on it, after the logo it goes to this screen http://imgur.com/EQpVwno and it stays that way so I restart and enter the bios, http://imgur.com/VUgrGZV If I choose the first option under UEFI which is IPV4 and hit ENTER it restarts and goes back to that same screen. If I select "Legacy Boot Sources", it does the same thing. What I am not understanding is why when I move the arrow to the Legacy boot sources option and hit ENTER, it doesn't show any boot options, help please?

    I can try it on my win10 but you mentioned 8.1 so I am guessing it would not work on win8?

    So I create a bootable drive from windows pe, pop it in then hit Shift + F10 at the Welcome screen and that's all? Still not understanding how their tool comes into play here?

    Yes I think that is what they are saying but how can I add their tool to window PE?

    I got this message this morning from their support but not totally understanding it: "You can run our OEM Key Tool under Windows PE, so if you have it on a local disk and boot into the Windows setup DVD you could launch it from the command line (shift+f10 on the welcome screen)." Any ideas on this please?

    I had written to their tech support yesterday asking exactly which of their utilities will do this, if there is a trial and if it also works with win8. If/when I hear from them, will post here.

    Point in case, that info had also come from the MS forum a while back but thanks for confirming. So to sum up would you say both win8 and 10 work the same exact way regarding reinstalling and product key?

    That's exactly what I had told that person but I am thinking somethings in win8 are not the same as in win10. For example from what I am being told "in order for Windows 8 to be reinstalled and activated the version installed must be the same as originally installed and must be an OEM copy from Manufacturer. Retail copy or digital download will not activate. Other option would be to purchase a new Windows 8 license of the version desired" is the above info accurate?.

    Thanks for confirming Cindy. I don't automatically agree with everything they tell me on the MS forums which is why I double check here. So it appears to me that win8 and win7 works a little differently when it comes to the reinstall and licensing procedure?

    I had read a while back that win8 will recognize which win8 software is needed and install with no need to manually type the product key, isn't it the same with win10?
