  2. By Reset I meant, I choose to do a reinstall win 10 using that option. Well then only thing I can figure out is that the recovery files has to be located in the C partition somewhere?
  3. I had already installed easeus parititon utility but waiting to find out which of the drives has the recovery files?
  4. Hello guys, this Asus A43S laptop is showing OS [C], local disks E, F and G. It is originally a win7 laptop but was upgraded to win10 and I just did a reset. I am not seeing any partition which is showing the recovery partition. How can I best combine them all into just one so Local disk C BUT without erasing the Recovery partition please? F and G is empty. D is 128mb and E is 110mb. I am not seeing any entries with the word "recovery" in either of those 2 folders?

  8. Yes exactly. # Copyright © 1993-2009 Microsoft Corp. # # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows. # # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each # entry should be kept on an individual line. 9. Ohh I see, I had thought you were referring to my network itself. The laptop's DNS settings is set to "Obtain DNS server address automatically".
  10. I have zero issues with any of my other pc's on the network so I don't have a networking issue here. The problem exists only with his laptop in the same way that he is having at his home.
  11. can't find host pinging google but shows connection to the router
  12. I had gone through all of what's mentioned above. I tried both type connections, same deal. The wireless switch is turned on. All networks are showing. I have his laptop here at my home. The DM didn't show any yellowed networking items. Also windows Network troubleshooting did not find anything.

  16. Hello Pete [or anyone else], my cousin's win10 laptop stopped going to the net. I ran the usual scans and cleaned out some stuff but still same deal so I am in need of some help please. Please see the reports but note that when I had first run mbam, I didn't pay attention to the language so it was in french and I could get the log therefore I am posting a screenshot of what it had found.
  17. I called up Symantec and asked for their clean wipe tool, that did it, thanks a million Cindy!
  18. Thx Pete. 2 symantec items showed in the GUI [symantec Endpoint protection [Firewall] and Symantec Endpoint protection but showed "an error has occured". I notice that during each f the uninstall methods I have tried including this one with Eset there would be a prompt "Symantec Teefer install has stopped working.
  19. Hello Pete or anyone else, I am having problems uninstalling the Symantec software from this win7 lenovo Thinkpad. I tried Revo Uninstaller which usually does the trick for hard to uninstall software but doesn't work, I tried a few articles off the net but nothing is working?
  20. Thanks for clarifying. I still don;t understand why someone would only use an Apple Store, don't people with ipads surf the net, download stuff and open emails so how would they be protected from malware?
  21. Thanks but not getting why if on an ipad when you visit the net and download stuff that you won't get a virus? Or are you saying that no matter which site someone visits to dl stuff or opens any emails e.t.c all of this will be pre-checked for viruses by Apple before the virus can attack their machine?
