    Wait a minute, since no problem in safe mode does this mean would not make sense to buy a PCI graphics card, right?

    I chose safe mode and no restarting, even when I shut down from safe mode I had to use the power button to startup the pc again, I did this 2x so the problem apparently doesn't exist in safe mode.

    I noticed the the vga port on the back as been pressed in on one side, could this be a graphics hardware problem?

    Power options set on "balanced" and Turn off display 10 minutes and Put computer to sleep 30 minutes Cindy.

    Hey guys, I reloaded win7 on this unit, it started restarting on it's own after I choose the shut down option in windows and it shuts down but now "sometimes" when i go to the net it will shut down too and restart, any ideas please?

    BTW, just for my knowledge, how would one be able to lock a pc in that way please?

    Hello all, this unit was brought to me with win7 Pro installed but the owner had some issues and asked me to reinstall win7. After wiping the drive clean and attempting to reinstall win7 pro, when it gets to the end of the "Completing installation" on the Installing Windows screen, I am getting a prompt stating : Windows setup could not configure windows to run on this hardware I tried both the win7 pro 32 and 64 bit versions but same deal. Owner said this was a business desktop which had some sort of lock on it so he could only go to the net and could not download and install any programs. What can i do here please?

    Oh, just curious, every now and then and especially when this pc is doing something the fan comes on stronger than normal, does this have a variable fan speed?

    Hey guys, i am trying to find an audio driver for this machine running Vista Home basic 32bit. The onboard card was shot ans so was a PCI audio card so I ordered a USB audio adapter but it plays choppy and in the DM the Multimedia Audio is Yellowed and I am not seeing an audio driver on their page below, help please? http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=401821&swLangOid=8&swEnvOid=2094

    Thanks for clearing the dual pc situation. Alright so basically a clone is a ready to go Hard drive system just need to swap the drives where as an image would need to be reinstalled? If yes to the latter, I am guessing using either Macrium or Easeus would give you the option to create a boot disk or if not, would you need to create a boot disk from another source like imgburn and include the image file then run the image file once the HDD is booted?

    Someone had called me up to inquire about it so I don't have any more info. BTW guys, just for my knowledge, I am guessing the backup can only be reinstalled on the exact same version of whatever OS the image was copied from on the same machine, is this correct? If yes, what about reinstalling on another but identical machine with same OS?

    Thanks, problem is I am not at all comfortable promising someone that YES, 100% everything will work on the new drive as on the original.

    Thanks, what do you guys use to clone a drive and is there a good "free" reliable software for this?

    Just so I understand, if you clone a drive and transfer the image across to a new drive you won't need activation? If that is correct then if you clone a drive but transfer to another machine then you will need activation, this all correct please?

    Hey guys, someone just called me, he wants an exact image of his pc transferred unto a new SSD drive, I told him he would need the license info for all softwares to re-activate them on the new drive, is there any way around this assuming that he does have licenses for softwares on his existing drive please?

    I have never worked on a tablet before, can anyone tell me how to recover data from this HP Touchpad's HDD please? Far as the owner knows, it powers on but no video.

    My mistake it seems Cindy, on some laptops if I remember correctly, yould only need to press the f11 and f12 buttons alone. On this unit I need to press the fn key at the same time so if that's accurate then problem solved.

    win8. I got to do the factory reset last night but this morning problem with browsers crashing, I can navigate around the pc fine and open any programs so it seems it only the browsers issue. Scannow did not produce anything but after running that scan the browsers seem stable now. I was thinking this HDD has issues, I ran a disk check and the optimize and defragment tool too but both showed ok. only other issue I am noticing now is that the volume keys at the top of the kb doesn't work but would that be software or hardware related?
