I built another PC today and decided to clone the OS from the SSD to a 750 GIG spinner HD Installed Macrium and absolutely would not clone. Gave me a 0X8004231F error every time. I eventually unticked the 100MB reserved partition check mark and clone worked perfect. Then rebooted F11 selected to boot off cloned copy and booted straight up fine. Although the System reserved partition was unchecked it cloned straight across. Strange or what? Maybe this could help someone with like issues. Computers are strange creatures.:)

I used to hate Checks when I was in business. No electronic checking back then. On top of losing the value of the goods my Bank always hit me with further $25 fee for processing. Here ckecks now only amount to 5% of non cash transactions. I don't know if that 6 months period is the same here in OZ.

Yes Lee. I live 5 mins from Penrith and do all our shopping there. I drive past the RAAF at Richmond often. Small world.

Yes, Windows 10 runs great on old hardware
DSTM replied to allheart55 Cindy E's topic in Tech Help and Discussions
I upgraded to Windows 10, and then rolled back before the month was up. Just didn't like it that much, although it worked OK. Windows7 SP1 X64 Ultra does everything for me I need. I will get Windows 10 only when I have no choice anymore.- 5 replies

It's a while since I used OPERA. I did use it for a couple of years. I have had Slim Browser recently and it is quite fast. Not as many bells and whistles as Opera but quite liked it. Try it Tony and if you don't like it, it easy to uninstall.

Yes Tony. http://www.slimbrowser.net/en/ Try it and see if you like it.

My choices are Firefox, Opera and Slim Browser for XP.

Alexa say Bleeping Computer generates $ 158,532 per 12 months and started 12 yrs ago. My question is with that amount of revenue does Bleeping Computer seriously need our help? From many websites I have read about Bleeping's "Dash for Cash" the responses have been mainly negative.

The part that gives me concern is all donations are non refundable. So if Lawrence Abrams wins the lawsuit he will be awarded all costs by the court. In actual fact it could be a win win situation for him. In a win situation all donations should be refundable. If this were the case I think donations would soar.

Here are some of the famous phrases our parents used to tell us that I guarantee we have passed on to our children... 1. My parents taught me about WAR. "Your room looks like a bomb hit it." 2. My Parents taught me about RELIGION. "You better pray that comes out of the carpet." 3. My parents taught me about TIME TRAVEL. "If you speak to me like that again, I'm going to knock you into the middle of next week." 4. My parents taught me about SILENCE. "Shut up and eat!." 5. My Parents taught me about the CIRCLE OF LIFE. "I brought you into this world, I can take you out." 6. My parents taught me about ENVY. "There are millions of less fortunate children in the world who don't have wonderful parents like you." 7. My parents taught me about RECEIVING. "You're going to get it when we get home." 8. My parents taught me about ENERGY CONSERVATION. "Shut that door... You weren't born in a barn?" 9. My parents taught me about JUSTICE. "When you have kids... I hope they turn out just like you!" 10. My parents taught me about LOGIC. "Because I said so, That's why." 11. My parents taught me about WASTE. "You'll sit there until your plate is empty." 12. My parents taught me about IRONY. "If you keep crying. I'll give you something to cry for." 13. My parents taught me about ENERGY CONSERVATION "Turn the lights off, we don't live in Blackpool!

In my case the configure process stayed on 0% on two new computers with clean installs in the last week. I knew it would say reverting any second so before it did I hard shut down regardless says "Do not turn off your computer" and waited 1 hr. I rebooted and the configure process % continued fine immediately. No futher update problems since. Bob's way works as well. Neither computer suffered any ill effects hard shutting down. Hard shutdown at your own risk when it says not to.

That's a good idea,Bob. Further discussions. The lightened sidebar I like very much. Thanks.

Took this shot of the moon in the middle of the night through heavy fog with my CanoN SX50HS. Amazing the fog didn't show in the photograph. About 125 Zoom. I notice a huge crater at the bottom at about 7 O'Clock.. Must have been some huge impact. Played around with settings the previous night to see what would happen. This is the result. I quite like the Blue hue.
