  1. The browser has a border around it when not full screen. If there is no border then you're at full screen. Now many sites will not fill all the screen. Many set to fill a percent or set amount of pixels. Free PC Help Forum is set at 1180px. Some set at 92%. Unless a site has a true fluid design which is one set to max width of 100% a page will never fill up the browser. Can you take a screenshot of what you're seeing and post it?
  2. Is it the browser doesn't fill the screen when maximized or the page doesn't fill the browser window?
  3. The Free PC Help and Tech Support official forum email address is schwarz.sites@gmail.com. No other email address is used for sending email to our users. If you receive any email that isn't from the Free PC Help and Tech Support official email address that has Free PC Help and Tech Support as a subject or content or purports to be from Free PC Help and Tech Support please forward the email to me immediately.

  4. Posting guidelines updated. Specifically added rule #16 covering the use of Personal Messages (PM) for tech support.
  5. Yes it would. Hadn't thought about that.
  6. I used to. Since I got my first smart phone I sort of stopped using my desktop for calendar, notes and contacts.
  7. Dogs are very protective. I have seen it first hand. I never understood why some new parents get rid of their dogs or cats when they have a baby.
  8. That's a very good question. Bookmarks are easy. Export them in Firefox and import then into IE. I am not so sure any of the settings, saved passwords or anything else can be imported. If you use a password manager then that problem is solved. For settings I don't know of any way to do it. Firefox doesn't have any way to export settings. The procedure to move setting in Firefox is to copy the data folder to the new install. I have never heard of anything called Buddy Profile. I did do a search at Google and from the looks of things other than bookmarks nothing else can be imported.
  9. You can also find our server by opening the server list, Connections > Server List. You can find us by searching for extreme (we are 5th from top), tech (10th on list), extreme tech or extreme tech support (number 1 on the list) Then all you have to do is connect from the list.
  10. Free PC Help Forum staff are trying to come up with a time for the chat session that will accommodate all users. Our members are scattered all across the globe so we are looking to set the time so the members that would normally be in bed can make it. As you know we will use TeamSpeak and have our own TeamSpeak server set up so we don't have to rely on an external provider. To prepare for the Free PC Help Forum official chat or if you want to try out TeamSpeak you can download the TeamSpeak client at: http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=downloads Select the correct version, 32bit or 64bit, for your operating system. There is also a version for IOS and Android if you would like to connect with your phone or tablet of choice. Once you have installed the software and launch it for the first time you will get a wizard to help set up your microphone. Follow through each step. After the wizard completes follow these steps to connect to the Free PC Help Forum server. Go to the Connections menu and click connect. You'll see the connection dialog as below. Set the Server address to: Use your forum username in the nickname field. No other information is needed. Once you do that click connect and once connected you'll see the screen below. If myself or anyone else in the chat room go ahead and holler at us. I try to be available whenever I am connected. If I am there and I don't answer right away I could be working on something and didn't hear the notification that some connected. If you have any problems installing TeamSpeak or connecting to the server let me know. I look forward to seeing you and talking to all of you.
  11. DSTM (Dougie) is the newest member of the Free PC Help Forum administration team. Dougie has been a member since the site was first re-opened and had been a member of staff as a Super Moderator. He is also a good friend and great person to know. Congrats Dougie.
  12. I wish I could double like that one.
  13. Problem should be fixed. Let me know if you still have issues.
  14. Yes it can. The malware could be using your connection as part of a botnet or is distributing the malware itself.
  15. You found a bug. I will fix that problem.
  16. You just made my day.
  17. Upload could be a little better. As far as downloading goes if you're not downloading gigabytes at a time that speed will work just fine.
  18. After sitting back and thinking about this for a few days I have decided that Free PC Help Forum can not nor ever will support any software when you explicitly have to opt out of an installation of any other software that is bundled with it. I understand that most software products do ask if you want to install other products. They get paid to bundle these products from the company that created the software. I do, however, have a problem when you have to opt-out of the install of these extras by checking/unchecking a box. A novice user could get unwanted software that could cause them problems. While I will not be taking part in any chat sessions on Paltalk and Free PC Help Forum will not endorse Paltalk, the software, or have its name associated with any chat on Paltalk I have no problems with discussions about it as long as a disclaimer is added to the thread informing users that they should watch the install process and are made aware that other software as well as having their homepage changed are possible when installing the software. I also have done some research on VOIP chat software and have decided that Free PC Help Forum will endorse TeamSpeak. TeamSpeak client installs only what you need to connect to the server. Yes there is an option for 1 additional software product, but, if you click through without watching the screen you only get the client. No need to opt-out of anything. Also TeamSpeak is ad free. Free PC Help Forum has a TeamSpeak server set up on our network for use by our users. We have full control over it and don't depend on a third party for the connection. Information on how to connect to the server will be released once we finalize our chat schedule. As a replacement Free PC Help Forum will hold a weekly chat in our TeamSpeak chatroom. Once the details have been finalized an announcement will be posted.

  21. You do know that Verizon is notorious for injecting ads into pages which causes confusion and may lead to installing unwanted software. Maybe that was the issue.
  22. This is the main reason why I switched from Android devices to iPhone and iPad. I do not want to take the better part of a day rooting a device and installing a custom ROM simply to get rid of the garbage that companies put on the phones and tablets.
  23. Well hello and glad you got here. Welcome and enjoy yourself.
  24. That's great. Sometimes I wonder if people are actually that dumb.
  25. Yes. You need Firefox to synch to store your settings.
