  1. I got an update to Windows 10 yesterday. It's build 10130. I think we are real close to RTM.
  2. I have added chatroom to the site. It will show on the forum index as a small chatbox. You can also access the full chat by using the Chat link in the navigation bar or by clicking the title on the chatbox. If you would prefer not to view the chatbox above the forums on the index page then you can edit your preferences and set it to not display. Once you do that the chatbox will be hidden and only be accessible by using the Chat link. This is just one of the many improvements you will see over the course of the next few weeks. We are going to be making the site more social for our users. We want to be more than a tech help site. Also the site domain will be changing as will the name. The new url will be http://freepchelp.forum and the site name will simple be Free PC Help Forum.Org. This is being done gradually so that all external and internal links will still be active and not result in a 404 error. In an effort to re-brand the site and make us different from the many tech help sites we will also be unveiling 2 fresh new styles. They are already turned on and available for use. One is Called Free PC Help Forum v3 Default which will eventually be the new default style and the other is called Free PC Help Forum v3. You can switch to them by using the style chooser. I will slowly turn off the old styles until only the new ones are active. Feedback on the new styles is appreciated so that I can make any adjustments to them. These are exciting times at Free PC Help Forum and we hope that it makes your experience while visiting the site an enjoyable one.
  3. I only hope the trend with pants hanging on the hips and exposed underwear never re-appears.
  4. This is a huge step forward in the battle against malware.
  5. I fix at least 1 of these every week. I had no idea that a company could make that much money off a scam like this.
  6. I find that amusing. I would bet there are more than just electronics to be found. Bell bottoms anyone?
  7. I had heard that the old Outlook Express mail client is making a comeback to replace Windows Live Mail. I hope so I really missed that when it went away in Windows 7.
  8. Yes it does. I won't miss it. I made the mistake of converting Windows 8 to the media center version when it came out and found it to be buggy and crash more than work.
  9. Number 29 is my favorite. I was always taught to be polite. A backhand across the back of the head will teach you to always be respectful and polite. I always hold the door open for someone. In many cases at busy places I might stand long enough that people think I'm the doorman. The majority of younger people today will never say thank you. Years ago I was with my Uncle one day going to buy lumber to remodel my basement. As we entered the store out of courtesy and respect for age I grabbed the door and held it open for my Uncle. Another guy followed him in as I held the door. As he approached my Uncle he said you're welcome to the guy. The guy looked dumbfounded and turned his head, uttered something and went on his way. From that day forward when I hold the door for someone and if I get no response I always say you're welcome. I get people that stop, turn around and say thank you, I get people that say sorry and continue on and every once in a while I get a lecture about being rude. In those cases I tell the person that I could have just let the door hit them in the ass and if acknowledging my gesture of good manners is rude then there is something wrong with them.
  10. I closed my Paypal account because of this. I still can use it when a merchant requires it, but, I use it with my credit card. I've had the account forever and used it for just about everything I bought online. It's all over now and to be honest so far I haven't missed it.
  11. All the computers at work got the icon either sometime yesterday or today. I was swamped with questions. I sent out a shell script to uninstall the update. I plan on upgrading everyone at some point in time, but, not in July.
  12. The more things change the more they stay the same. Seems like Microsoft is living by that.
  13. I hope this makes it. I get at least 2 or 3 robocalls each week. I probably have more than 100 numbers in my block list.
