  1. So true. They used to have a beta test group for every Windows OS. I first was accepted during the Windows 95 test. Used to get sent install floppies once every 2 weeks whenever a new build was released. The last real Windows beta was Vista. While they did have a Windows 7 beta the test group only got 2 builds. I got more because I was also part of the developers group during that test.
  2. Just to update. Following Cindy's link and doing what it suggested fixed the problem.
  3. Good to hear and we await getting to know her.
  4. This is what I wanted to see. Now I'm happy.
  5. I'll give that a try.
  6. I was moving files from the main server to the backup server. Normally I have a batch script do the job at various intervals. I noticed the backups were all a week old so I went to investigate what happened. I checked event viewer for any failed tasks and everything seemed normal. I them manually fired the batch file and everything seemed to work. Switched to the backup server RDP window and no new files were there. So I decided I'd just copy them over the old fashioned way one zip at a time. I copied the first zip and when I went to paste it to the back up server the RDP connection shutdown and reconnected. I then got an unspecified error copying files.. Tried on a couple other zips and got the same thing. I know there is a problem with Windows 2012 and large file copies over RDP, but, none of the files are that big. Biggest is maybe 50 or 60 megs. I've tried shutting down and restarting both servers. I don't think it's a network problem because the servers are hardwired together and connect from one to the other with RDP. I haven't had any problems before and after troubleshooting it until 3 this morning I gave up took the drive out of the backup server, put it in the hotswap sata box and copied the files onto it then moved the drive back to the main server. Has anyone had any problems with copy and paste with RDP?
  7. I have been running it on my laptop for a while. Last week I installed it on my work laptop so I could check compatibility with some of my legacy programs. So far I've only had to make minor tweaks to the code, which I have to do for every OS upgrade, for everything to run. I will probably push it out to the field shortly after it's released.
  8. Oh it's coming. I think Windows 10 will be the last Microsoft OS I use. I will go OSX full time before I start to pay subscriptions.
  9. Which one is the free upgrade that everyone with Windows 7 and 8 are supposed to get? My bet is home and you'll have to pay for an upgrade to pro.
  10. I do like the new logo. The old IE logo is a little long in the tooth.
