Hi, Need your advise and guide. 1) I just turn on the Windows Defender Service on my home desktop, the operating system is Windows 8. Not sure how to shown windows defender ICON on task bar. And I would like to set the scanning schedule. Can you please help me. 2) Does Windows defender service monitor the network as well, such as surf the external network. 3) Before I turn on, I was using network agent "Norton Anti Virus" advised by the retailer. Now, I have uninstall but keep the user set up behind ( this is recommended option). Is this okay if now the Windows Defender is turn on. Kindly advise. Thanks. Hallo zusammen,habe heute versucht, Daten von meiner externen Trekstor Platte zu laden und es ging nicht. Vor ein paar Wochen hat es noch einwandfrei funktioniert.Ein paar Details: PC ist ein Medion Akoya mit Windows 7 32. Die externe Festplatte ist eine Trekstor maxi.mu und über USB angeschlossen.Habe in diesem Forum gestöbert und einige Tips probiert, aber keiner hat geholfen.Die Festplatte habe ich aus dem Geräte-Manager entfernt und den PC neu gestartet. Die Treiberinstallation ist gestartet, wurde dann aber vom System abgebrochen.Bei der Problembehandlung hat der PC ein Problem mit dem Treiber angezeigt, aber bei der Problembehandlung kam dann, dass die Treiber auf dem neuesten Stand ist.Im Explorer ist das Gerät nicht zu finden. Im Bereich Geräte und Drucker findet man es, aber mit einem total komischen Namen mit Zeichen, von denen ich nicht mal wußte, daß es sie auf dem PC gibt.Wie gesagt, bis vor ein paar Wochen hat es auf gleichem PC mit gleichem Betriebssystem noch einwandfrei funktioniert.Hoffe, Ihr könnt mir helfen, denn die Daten auf der Platte sind immens wichtig.Danke im vorausViele GrüßeIngo View the thread

Okay I have literally tried everything to get this working to no effort. For a long time now I've not been able to install over 21 updates due to the error codes - &quot8007371C&quot and &quot0x800F081F&quot. I have tried the Bat file solutions which re-register everything, the other solution provided by Docslax which also has not worked. I've deleted the older version updates one by one as provided by another solution which has also provided no effect. I am literally at an end here as I have tried everything that has been offered. SFC scans have also not worked. Everytime I've tried one of these solutions on restart I'll either get stuck at 35% or 15% and then following that &quotFailure to configure updates, reverting changes&quot. Help :( View this thread

I am running Window's 7 on a HP dv6 laptop variant. Two days ago Window's update ran while my mother was using, my computer, rebooting in the middle of her game..... Afterwards, the left button of the touch pad no longer worked. How can this be repaired. I've tried to update the driver and uninstall/restart, both of which did nothing to resolve the problem. Windows 7 Home.. I was sorting pictures in my picures library and they all disappeared. I found them in favorites/recent places but when i try to copy them back to my pictures it is only a shortcut. I can't seem to find an answer to my question on the Microsoft update info so I thought I would try this forum. I have a new Dell Inspiron laptop purchased about a year ago and just love it. I have never had any issues until about 4 months ago. But, now every time I shut down my laptop it will automatically install 2 updates. The first one is: Security Update for Microsoft.NET framework 4 on XP, server 2003, vista, windows7, server 2008, server 2008 R2 for 64 (KB2656351) Publish date 12.29.2011. The second one is: Update for Microsoft.NET framework 4 on XP, server 2008, vista, windows 7, server 2008 R2 for 64 )KB2600217) publish date 2.14.2012. It appears to have installed the update each time, and yet, it continually keeps installing every day. When I check to see if it installed correctly it always shows successful. Is this just an ongoing process from Microsoft for these 2 updates or do I have a problem with installing them. It seems a little strange sin ce they always have the same identifier number. This is probably a silly question, since my computer appears to work well with or without the updates, its just a nagging problem. If anyone can give me some advice please do, it will be greatly appreciated. View this thread

Regardless of which disk I choose from the boot disk (bios), Win8 is what boots. Is there something I need to change? I disconnected the Win7 disk during the Win8 installation. I reattached the Windows 7 disk after a couple days. I think I could use the boot manager in the bios OR make the drive that contains the Win7 first and boot that OS. However, regardless of the changes to these settings, Win8 is what boots. View this thread

I am told to install the latest version of Adobe Flash. Checking the test area, I do not have Adobe because There are no images in thebox. But here is the confusing issue, in the toshiba installation box. I have installed "Adobe Flash Player 9 Activex. Is there a difference?I have a Toshiba Windows Basic Laptop L355 (S7905). IE9.
