Hi I am using Windows 7 64bit. I have no service pack as Windows will not update. Through reading I believe this is due to the following problem (BITS is missing). Since a malware attack I have found BITS (Background Intelligent Transfer Service) missing from my list of Services. On advice from many forums I have tried reinstalling it by entering the following command into cmd.exe sc create BITS binpath= "c:windowssystem32svchost.exe -k netsvcs" start= delayed-auto However I get the response message: [sC CreateService Failed 5: Access is denied. I am opening cmd.exe with "Run as Administrator". I have also ensured the administrator has "full control" under the security permission within properties. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Start &gt My Documents &gt Folder My Pictures (100 thumbnail images with names) The drop-down View Menu has 6 options for viewing: Filmstrip, Thumbnails, Tiles, Icons, List, Details. No matter how I arrange these images by dragging to my desired position they always get rearranged after closing then reopening the folder. None of the 6 options will hold them in the order I have dragged them to. I'd like this to work like desktop icons, they stay where I put them. I have 2 of most of my images. One original and one modified with each having a different name. I want to keep these side-by-side in the folder but the differing names cause them to be separated when the folder is closed and reopened. View this thread

I have been trying to install both office 2013, and visio 2013. Everytime I install however, I get an error saying that the installer encountered an error during setup. Running XP 32-bit with SP3. Can't get Updates. I've tried manually and auto. Error message as in subject line ~ Website encountered a problem and cannot display the page. I've followed all advice in Community threads. I've run FixIt (WU): that always says One or more Windows components needs to be repaired, then says it's fixed. But no change. The issue seems to be that some default location where Update data are stored has changed. it does not say what this is, or where it's been changed to. I then try to see if I can get Updates. No luck. Run the FixIt again it says exactly the same thing as before ~ and that it's fixed again. Obviously not. Is there a simple patch or something that'll fix it. Thanks Mike View this thread
