Yawn. Prediction: Ubuntu will be more successful Europe than in the USA.
After all the people in the USA voted Bush in TWICE so they aren't
exactly the sharpest knives in the drawer. Once Ubuntu gains enough
market share, watch Adobe, Corel, etc. jump on the bandwagon and start
writing for Ubuntu. The YOU will show up and say "I've always used Ubuntu".

I was refering to Ubunto on the desktop. Linux/Unix as a server is a
powerful solution. Much more stable than running Microsoft Windows Server.

With that prediction you should rush out and purchase lottery tickets. Man
you are right on the money. (NOT) Maybe you can predict with world economy,
the stock market and the Information Technology age. Let me know how you
do. Post back next week with your winning numbers, your incredible winnings
in the stock market, and your belief that Ubuntu will be more successful
than Windows! HA HA HA.. You need more medication.

The difference is probably what the likes of Norton pay Dell for
installing their trial crap ware but, being as I would never buy a Dell,
I haven't researched it. They do have a toll free number if you really
want to find out.

You probably couldn't afford a DELL. Must be raking in the BIG EUROS with
those three companies you run. When was the last time you held a board
meeting? When was the last time you went to work? You post here all day
every day so I doubt you ever leave your bedroom or living area. Is the
nurse very nice where you live? Does she/he give you sponge baths every day
or can you wash yourself?

False (again). Our Windows clients are constantly calling us to clean up
their virus and malware infested computers while our Ubuntu clients,
once they get everything set up, only call us to tell us how glad they
are that they left Windows for Ubuntu and how wonderful it is to allow
their kids to surf on line and not have to worry about paying us again
to get rid of the crud.

I think you have it wrong. Your windows clients call up and ask for help
with viruses and malware. That must be true. On the other hand, your
Ubuntu clients probably call up within a week or two and ask you to remove
Ubuntu because they can't get anything to work. They then tell you how
happy they are to be back to a Windows solution again. They probably say
how wonderful Windows is and are happy to throw Ubuntu to the wind.

That is more likely what happens. Get over the Ubuntu thing.

WOW...great to hear your nine clients are happy.
Wonder how many hundreds of millions of clients love Windows ?
Quite a few...if usage is any guide .

I build my own, thanks. I just built one. The specs:

AMD 2 4600+
2GB Corsair 800 RAM
nVidia 7300 GT (soon to be replaced by an nVidia 8800)
ASUS MB
Two IED HDs, one with XP Home and one with Ubuntu Gutsy
Logitech Speakers with a woofer
External HD in an enclosure
LG DVD burner with LightScribe
Floppy
See through case with lights.

So, lamer, I *can* afford a Dell but I don't like Dells.

You think that computers can only reside in bedrooms and living areas?
LOL! I'm in my office right now. I post about twenty posts a day and
each post takes me a grand total of one minute to type (I touch type).
That leaves a helluva lot of time to work.

OK so you don't have a nurse. I'm not 100% correct on everything. If I was
I'd be buying lottery tickets.

Twenty to thirty minutes is not "all day".

I know what you meant.

Again, sigh, twenty to thirty minutes is not all day. Ever notice how
you never see any posts from me before noon? What do you think I'm doing?

Again, double sigh, 20-30 minutes is not "all day".

You can choose which ever you'd rather. I should also have to CHOICE to
use neither and to pay for neither if I'm so inclined.
