1.The appearance of the back forward buttons changed, one is larger than the other and the small arrow adjacent to them that would reveal recent pages or complete history has disappeared. 2. The url identification for the page previously was adjacent the "back" 'forward" buttons has moved to the right right and in it's place is my Google search box which previously was on the extreme right in this menu bar. 3. New Home, History, and Tools icon have appeared. What's with this unsolicited, unwanted and extremely annoying occurrence? Are there other changes I have yet to discover? What the heck are 57,000 update/fixes? Does that refer to 57,000 "bugs", mistakes, lousy programing? View the thread

I have a Dell Studio 15 Running Win 7 Pro. The drive is a 500GB ATA. Yesterday I received this message, (error 0253 EFI variable block data destroyed.) After running diagnostics, I got another error, 0146. I chatted with a Dell tech and he said my hard drive was fried! However, the computer, with a couple of exceptions, seems to run normal. I ran Chkdsk/F and found no errors!! The 2 exceptions are F8 will not take me to safe mode and all my restores are missing. Does anyone have any ideas on this puzzle? View the thread

Error code: 0xc80003f3 Last version: 1.147.8330, created on 4-1-13 @ 2:52 am In trying various troubleshooting methods I discovered that Windows Update is not working either, and is apparently needed for MSE to update correctly. How do I solve this? I ran a full scan on Malwarebytes and nothing was detected. I don't know how to get Windows Update working. I have found Excel 2013 (32-bit) to be completely unusable running on Windows 8 (HP Core i7, 8GB ENVY dv7). A 296MB spreadsheet which I can work on without issues using Win 7 (Excel 2010 64-bit) consistently crashes when I try to scroll from the top of the spreadsheet to the bottom. In addition, Win8 print drivers are woefully inadequate - the generic driver for a Xerox Color Phaser printer will not permit selecting the bypass tray PostScript drivers for the same printer appear to install OK but then crash, complaining about insufficient memory. In short, Win8 and Office 2013 are disasters. I will not be putting them on any other computers. Microsoft has outdone itself with these buggy and unstable releases. View this thread

I purchased Stock InvestorPro from American Association of Individual Investor to install on my laptop computer running Windows 7 64-bit operating system. When I installed it for the first time, it was running fine. I get weekly data download from AAII, which went corrupt a week ago. I tried to reindex it using Stock InvestorPro's Utility software, but it got worse. I was asked to uninstall and reinstall Stock InvestorPro. However, when I reinstalled it, it wouldn't run. The message I keep getting is "Microsoft Visual FoxPro has stopped working. Windows will notify you when a solution is found." After that, Stock InvestoPro would shut down and doesn't run. I have tried the uninstall and reinstall several times, thinking that I may have done something wrong, but the problem remains. Is there a patch that Microsoft provides that can fix this issue? Is there a specific Visual FoxPro driver that runs in the background to support third party software using that database? I have tried every single solution offered on this and dozens of other sites but still cannot get this update to install. I get error code 8004FF80. If I unistall MSE then the only way to re-install is to do a system restore. Please do not suggest looking for other anti-virus programmes, my system has none and as I said, I have tried everything else.
