Amen, brother.

Unfortunately, you're going to get replies from Ubuntu fan-bois that
claim that because this NG is titled vista.general, anyone can post
whatever they want here. That rationalization has been going on for
quite some time. Those people don't seem to comprehend the "vista" part
of the title. That the "general" part of the title is intended to
address general Vista OS questions not covered by other vista ng's is
completely ignored by those who rationalize their Ubuntu jihad in this NG.

Like yourself, I have no issue with Ubuntu. I've tried numerous Ubuntu
releases. I prefer Vista. But I don't go hang in the sole Ubunutu NG and
rail on about how folks should be using Vista instead of Ubuntu. I've
got better things to do with my time. Like attempt to answer questions,
not cast condescending aspersions and/or indulge in self-aggrandizement.

Folks, this is a "Vista" NG.
Thus, the main audience is tormented and frustrated "Vista" users. People
who already spent a lot of
money for an operating system, see they were conned and, which they trying
desperatly to use now.
Ubuntu has a clear right of existence in it's area and in this group.
If you like it better, you are. And don't try to spread your Vista
"religion" here
when someone asks for help about a Vista problem.

In short:
This newsgroup => Vista= crap
alt.os.linux.ubuntu => get further information other than the info you will
be learning in vista.general

*Everyone* in the Ubuntu forums has heard of Vista so it would do you no
good to tell them about something they already know. Many in this
newsgroup have not heard of Ubuntu. Hence, my noble mission to free
people from the virus and malware trap and the DRM, WPA and WGA hassles
that is Vista.

It is like a religion to these paupers, they're like Jehovah Witnesses. If I
had something that great I'd keep it to myself :o)

Dood, who cares about whether it's public or private? My point is that I
don't go into the Ubuntu group and rant about how I think Vista, or OS
X, is "better" than Ubuntu... why do that? Others obviously like
Ubuntu... for whatever reasons. Fine have at it and good luck!

I think it's totally disingenuous to post pro-Ubuntu screeds in this NG.

Not me. I'm not the one whining about Ubuntu posts.

No one is stopping you.

When people are wanting to ditch Vista, or are so frustrated with it that
they don't know what else to do, why not offer alternatives?

But the funny part is that 99% of the posts vaguely about Ubuntu here
would go away, if ya'll just got Frank to see reason.

Good luck with that one!

And some people use both Vista & Ubuntu, yet you'd want to limit their
speech here.

Fine. Sieg Heil!

> I think it's totally disingenuous to post pro-Ubuntu screeds in this NG.

No what is disingenuous is that you only want to stop the PRO-Ubuntu
"screeds."

Why not try to stop the anti-Ubuntu guys first? Because you agree with
them.

Stop Frank first, then get back to me.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
