If marketing is the key...Apple would have the dominate PC installation
base.
Microsoft made an easy to use/learn OS early on...and mopped the floor of
competitiors.

Linux is trying to catch up by making the OS less secure.

It's quite amusing.

In 5 years linux will be Windows98
