KVM stands for Keyboard Video Mouse You hook the 2 desktop computers up to the KVM switch with the included cables and hook 1 keyboard, 1 mouse and 1 monitor to the switch. So you really don't want a 2nd desktop computer? What you want is a 2nd operating system on one computer?
-
I used two KVM switches for quite some time. One upstairs where I have an old Windows 2K computer and a Win 7 desktop. I had another setup in the basement for my husband. First he used Win 2k and XP. When I pulled 2K off the internet, he was running XP and Windows 7 on 2 different computers.

Well I'd rather see chrome than Mozilla, if I'm using something based on chromium and not FF or one of its branches. Today I'm on Palemoon but I'm leaving that because v 28 won't run on two of out four computers unless I turn off exploit protection in Malwarebytes. I refuse to lower my protection to run a browser so I'm trying out Vivaldi.
-
I'm just testing. I'm on Vivaldi browser. This site reports it as chrome. Another site said Mozilla so obviously the reporting tool there isn't working. (It is understandable because the forum software is very old asp).

Many of the artists of the 60's are revising their hits with new lyrics to accommodate aging baby boomers who can remember doing the "mashed potato" as if it were yesterday. They include: Bobby Darin --- Splish, Splash, I Was Havin' A Flash Herman's Hermits --- Mrs. Brown, You've Got a Lovely Walker Ringo Starr --- I Get By With A Little Help From Depends The Bee Gees --- How Can You Mend A Broken Hip Roberta Flack--- The First Time Ever I Forgot Your Face Johnny Nash --- I Can't See Clearly Now Paul Simon --- Fifty Ways To Lose Your Liver The Commodores --- Once, Twice, Three Times To The Bathroom Procol Harem --- A Whiter Shade Of Hair ? Leo Sayer --- You Make Me Feel Like Napping The Temptations --- Papa's Got A Kidney Stone Abba --- Denture Queen "You haven't seen my teeth have you Wilma?" Tony Orlando --- Knock 3 Times On The Ceiling If You Hear Me Fall Helen Reddy --- I Am Woman, Hear Me Snore Leslie Gore --- It's My Body, and I'll Cry If I Want To And Last but NOT least... Willie Nelson --- On the Commode Again

This in the article says it all . As long as people keep clicking links in email, they stand a chance of getting infected. If I get an email from someone I do business with, I don't click any links in the email. I open a new browser tab, type in the address of the company and log in. I can see what I want and there is a better chance that I'm on the actual site of the company.

Done!

I've done that but it usually takes me less than 20 min. to realize what I've done. I have burner covers. I can't begin to tell you the numbers I've ruined, heating a burner with the cover on instead of the one that the pot is on. I've finally resorted to removing both covers from the side I'm using.

Have you added Fanboy's filters to ABP? (I use uBlockOrigin and I've added to that) Fanboy Adblock Homepage I usually add Social Site blocking because I don't want to see Facebook, Twitter or Pinterst because I use none of those. -
Yuck! I see lots of people wearing "what not to wear" outfits.

You can however install another browser. I have at least 2 browsers on every device (Windows and android). My J3 Emerge and my Galaxy Tab A came with a Samsung browser but I've also installed Firefox and I've tried Brave. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sec.android.app.sbrowser&hl=en_US https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.mozilla.firefox&hl=en_US https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.brave.browser&hl=en_US

I read a story about a Ghostery screwup. Apparently they sent out emails to 500 users at a time telling them how important their privacy was. Well, the email had the users address then CC listed 499 others. So apparently, a user now knows 499 strangers email addresses and the fact that they use Ghostery. :funny:

Comcast Patches Router Bug That Leaked Some Wi-Fi Passwords
plodr replied to starbuck's topic in Tech Help and Discussions
I use Comcast. I don't use their hardware - problem solved. I had a MAJOR problem with Verizon in 2004. I don't trust them. I don't trust Comcast either! But I distrust Comcast less than Verizon. :watch: Sad, isn't it. -
That's actually less scary than seeing adult drivers staring down at the phone instead of having eyes on the road. So many cars are crossing the center line into oncoming traffic it is scary.

Looking here Download ClipClip - MajorGeeks my question will be, what version of Windows are you running? I see you posted from an android device, so that doesn't help determine the OS.
-
I had to re-do my shortcut to get here. Now to do the other computers.

Yes, if he was waiting for molds from China, that isn't the same as recycling CDs from e-cycled computers. Change joy to money and you have his motive.

Let's face it, MS wants EVERYONE to move to Windows 10. I guess they figure if no one can restore the old OS, then they'll be forced to buy a new computer with Win 10. I suspect MS will do almost anything to try and kill all the old versions of Windows. (Just take a look at how they are screwing up Windows 7 users this year with the patches!)

Well this hasn't been true for years I have 4 Windows 7 computers. One I purchased an upgrade disk for. Two I was able to burn my own following the manufacturers instructions. The last one I got a disk simply because it was purchased from a MS certified refurbisher. In the US, restore disks are NOT given to everyone who purchases a computer with a licensed version of Windows.

I have chrome on a USB stick. I use it on one Windows computer because a site someone loaded some things on for me required chrome to download the files. Of course it is on my three android devices. I use it from time to time on there but I do have FF installed. I also had Palemoon installed but he pulled out of doing any android development. I have AdBlockPlus browser on 1 or 2 devices. it won't work on the 3rd because my Asus tablet uses an Intel chip and it stopped working on that. Tech support was very helpful tracking down the reason why it stopped working after an update.
