Wow! There is a whole lot there that I disagree with, but I guess we can agree to disagree! Lets start with this reply!! uncheeky is freeware and has nothing to do with malware and junk removal. Although those both are good programs! Please explain what rubbish came with uncheeky. Rubbish that came trough with which down loads?? Are you talking about Softpedia I would like to hear what problems you have seen with the Premium version and which staff backs you up. I would like very much to report this on the MBAM forum where I'm currently a registered member. Thank you! Why is this even a issue. Root kits are very rarely seen these days. Just click it before scanning with MBAM! That is not true. Some PUP's bread malware into your system and some redirect your home page and cause other unwanted problems. That is exaxtly why MBAM has now started to detect PUP's. Finally One more time MBAM is not a stand alone malware security and needs to be run with a good Anit-Virus program Please supply data for you above reply. Thank you! Once again I would like to post your statements on MBAM forum. Great discussion. I hopping all are enjoying and learning!

I agree @DSTM I tried to answer her question about MBAM and if it was any good. I usually don't advise members which Anti-Virus to run with MBAM. I really don't see that much difference in them. I guess that would be a different discussion! I'm saying it's just as good and IMHO even better, Just don't confuse it. It was never meant to stand alone without a good Anti-Virus program.;);) That's my story and I'm sticking with it.:)

Hi! @Rich-M is this not a quote from you on a different forum??"I am not quite sure why there is so much misunderstanding out there. Defragmentation is not needed on ssd drives and can even be troublesome because they store files differently but checkdisk works perfectly well on these drives though doing checkdisk on any drive once a month is not desirable. Run that when there is a problem or once a year if you really want to."

Exactly @allheart55 (Cindy E) Well said and with a lot less words than I used. MBAM is not going down hill (Period!!)

Windows 10 Recovery CD Free Download
donetao replied to Frogboy's topic in Tech Help and Discussions
That is not true either. There are a lot of good freeware programs on the internet that don't come with infections.IMHO you need to post data with these kinds of replies you're making!!;);) -
MBAM is not a Anti- Virus. Never has been. Never will be! It's designed to run with your Anti -Virus. It's better that it used to be. You are talking apples and oranges and that's not a fair comparison that you're making!! IMHO you shouldn't be saying these things about MBAM without data to back it up. Malware is changing at this very minute, and MBAM is trying to keep up with all the new definitions. That's the reason for up dating each time before scanning. My MBAM Premium is constantly up dating. A new version has just been released and MBAM will always be around helping to protect your PC. Should you run it a lone without a Anti-Virus. Hell no!! You need a Anti-Virus also!! :grr:

Windows 10 Recovery CD Free Download
donetao replied to Frogboy's topic in Tech Help and Discussions
Darn it! It's not free for W7. Thanks @Frogboy Good find. -
MBAM was never designed to run a lone as a Anti-Virus. Where people come up that idea really amazes me. It has always been designed to run along side your Anti-Virus in real time as a extra layer of protection. Our malware team here uses it as a on demand scanner, so it must be good for some thing. Every forum I have been on uses MBAM in their malware section. MBAM Premium has blocked a ton of malicious IP addresses from my computer. MBAM also has a Anti root kit software. I really get up set when people say that MBAM isn't any good these days. Don't let anyone tell you that. Cleaning up a PC that has ran on the internet sense 2009 without protection is going to require a lot of clean up. Root kits are rarely seen these days, but MBAM does have a Anti root kit software and it is now being run on most forums and replacing TDSS Killer. I guarantee you that MBAM is keeping up in the malware world. You can find all the MBAM software here. Don't pick on my MBAM!! I'm not trained in malware fighting, but I deal with it all the time here in my village. MABM has removed as many as 1200 PUP's on one PC here in my village, where I help seniors for free. If you have MBAM Premium, check to see if Root Kit has been checked! https://www.malwarebytes.org/downloads/#beta PS @Katrina I would advise you to add MBAM Anti Expolit to your security. You will find it in the list above!!

Hi friend! I do not have a Cannon printer. I can not believe cannon can't help you solve this issue. This is all I have to offer you, which isn't very much. Are you sure you are competently uninstalling the printer before you try to reinstall it?? Printers are my least favorite thing to help with, but I'll try to help you! I can just tell you that you are not alone with this issue. Printers are very cheap. Maybe try a different brand! http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_programs/error-you-need-a-wia-driver-to-use-this-device/6383bc81-b6c0-4b48-8ac6-144c009c332d

Is your PC infected--Are you ready for any diaster??
donetao replied to donetao's topic in Tech Help and Discussions
Hi @Katrina ! No it's different than a restore point. A system image is a exact copy of your OS. W7 and W8 has a feature to create a image of your OS. It's better than nothing, but a 3rd party is better. I like Macrium Reflect. Yes you do need to learn how. Here's how to use the windows feature. Macrium is a little more involved, but you can learn how to do that will just a little effort. If you have more questions, I will try to answer them. Other members here will help you also!! http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/what-is-a-system-image I'm a lazy kind guy and I let those that are better explaining these things, do it for me.;);) http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/4241/how-to-create-a-system-image-in-windows-7/ -
Is your PC infected--Are you ready for any diaster??
donetao replied to donetao's topic in Tech Help and Discussions
Good choices!! -
What are PUP's?? Are they dangerous?? Please read about them as explained by my best friend MBAM;);) They are bundled on 7 out of 8 of the down load sites. CNET is the worst one. It's all about $$$. Be very careful. I trust Major Geeks, but you need to be very careful down loading freeware. It's getting really bad out there, so be careful. Please read how MBAM is working to stop them in the link below!! https://blog.malwarebytes.org/malvertising-2/2014/07/pups-are-persistent/ Here's free software that will help a little, but you have to also use your brain and not rely on this program!! http://unchecky.com/

Is your PC infected--Are you ready for any diaster??
donetao replied to donetao's topic in Tech Help and Discussions
I have more! Don't let a disaster happen, protect yourself. I know this will get some comments. I have never been infected. First be a safe surfer. Use your brain and don't click on those pop-ups that tell you they can help your computer run better. Don't click on any pop-up period, when surfing the internet. When you down load software, down load from the author. If you can't find the software by the author, I trust Major Geeks. I use WOT and Ad-Blocker ; Ad-ons on all my browsers. I run MSE(Anti-Virus) and MBAM Pro in real time. I just recently added MBAM Anti Exploit to my arsenal. I know someone will say my Anti-Virus program is weak, but I have never been infected and if you read my other post her, you will see that not a lot scares this old man. I'm ready for about any thing that comes my way, and you should be ready also! :punch::geek: -

Hi! Are you ready for your next disaster?? I think I am?Here's why I think I'm ready. I have the 5 DVD's with back to factory. I have a flash with back to factory. I still have the back to factory hidden partition on my HD. I have created a system live repair CD that will let me boot when windows don't want to boot. Last time I checked, I had 14 back up images of my OS, created with Macrium Reflect on a External HD. The system repair CD will get me to the windows rescue media. I'm sure I'm virus free, but if I ever get so corrupted that I can't remove the infections, I always have a virus free image of my OS I can restore to. At least create the system repair CD when your PC won't boot into windows! I just might save you from a reinstall!

Why you always look so mean. Are you mean??:big_ha:

Here's my sfc /scannow !My old rig is looking good!;) It ain't broke @DSTM , but I just like checking her out once in awhile and if we don't have any thing for our quest to read once in awhile, who will join our forum. Now if were talking about up dating drivers, I agree 100%; don't fix it if it ain't broke. I do have a great 3rd party program for checking for up dated drivers however. After you PC gets so old the manufacture stops posting up dated drivers for your rig. I like to keep my grafics drivers up dated.:winner:
