Oh yes if it is an upgrade then you need to install iot twice to do a full install with an upgrade disk. First time through you have to do with no code as temporary trial install, Then in Windows upgrade the install and this time enter the code.

Is your disk Windows 8 or 8.1 as the codes from 8 will not work in 8.1?

Brand new with Windows 8? Are you certain you don't mean Windows 8.1? How2 many updates are you trying at once? Are you going into Control panel, Windows Updates and selecting what you want? I hope yse and if the ones you need are over 100, try a smaller quantity.

What is the file ending of what you are trying to play? WMP does not have a full range of files it can play asnd you are way better off with VLC Player: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html

Laptop or desktop? Either way all you need to do is restore the Recovery Partition. Let us know make and model and we will give you instructions on how to do that.

Windows 8.1 does not support an Upgrade from Windows 7, you must do a clean install and you do that by booting to the Windows dvd.

Please tell us make and model of laptop so we can tell you how to restore to day 1.

You can try by enabling the built in Administrator to disable everything in startup: Step 1: To enable built-in administrator account follow these steps: Insert the Windows 8 Disc. Click on "Repair your Computer". Click on "Advanced Startup Options". Click on "Command Prompt." Type: "net user administrator /active: yes" and hit "enter" on your keyboard Now go Alt,Ctrl, Del 3 times and choose "startup" and disable everything there and reboot. If it works then add back slowly until you find the culprit. Note: Please follow the same steps and type net user administrator /active: no to disable admin account after the troubleshooting is done.

Usually right click and delete but we are unclear if this is Cloud email or Windows LIve? Can you please clarify.
