  1. Bob, you said it better than i did but that was part of what I was thinking about. I think that is the main reason I have never used IE BTW, I never could stand the way I saw it rendering certain websites. They were using 600 X 800 as their base long after most websites began moving on from that aspect making some sites look really odd and I just got used to other browsers.
  2. I have had a compressor for years, but it makes such a mess and my shop is in my home like your is Cindy, so consequently I wind up going outside with it and is the vacuum is as good as I think it is, it makes a lot more sense. I think this is the same thing I saw a copier guy carry into my home and also our piano tuner.
  3. That is usually the reason. We are used to that with iPhone releases.
  4. Judging by the pictures, that too is a work in progress with a long way to go...
  5. Hi N3 glad to see you here! This is a work in progress so any questions you have please ask them no matter how simple you think they are.... remember the old motto we carry with us from PC Talk Radio Sow, "the only stupid question, is the one you don't ask"!
  6. It's funny how I can notice things on client units and disregard them on my own. In Day 2 of system replacement, and remember the OS is the same minus driver swaps, I realize how quiet the system is now and I see no freezes or BSOD's and here I thought it was the SSD drive and the 2nd hard drive at fault. Well on bootup today a lengthy checkdisk ran on the WD backup hard drive which suggests its time for replacement, which it is as I think that one may be 6 years old. Again it never boots a system so that way they can last. The new video card seems cleaner and I think I had been experiencing some screen shake every now and then and power is consistent. I also notice no problems recovering from sleep as on the other system half the time I had to reboot and I was looking for bad drivers or drivers needing replacement but never really solved anything that way. I can't wait for the faster ram to get here and the new Ssd though the bootup is way faster than it had been and I am not sure why I would change the Ssd except for the fact I don't feel good about Crucial Ssd drives but really I see no reason to change it. I have an image file now with all the changes made as well.
  7. This seems to be the best price around and I am not sure how super it is, but it is an item we all need if we are working on computers. I have a compressor to blow air but here is the cleanup and I have been looking for it below $100 for a long time..... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00006IAOR/ref=pe_58750_121754600_em_1p_5_ti
  8. Ha, ha I have a white iPhone, a white pc and even a white camera (Nikon J1 SLR with all kinds of white lenses)....I'd get white TV's if I could find them!
  9. We haven't been able to walk into that for years Cindy!
  10. I can top that this morning I couldn't open the door because there was a box big enough to live in from D&H (5- $22 Antec micro cases, 3 motherboards, 2 processors and 2 video cards....and remember I said they never ship in the mfgr's boxes), and when I finally wrestled that in the door behind it was a box with 2 Ssd drives followed by one with 4 power supplies not to mention another little box with 6 double sticks of ram. I was worn out before breakfast and I thought my GSD was going to flood the room before I could clear the door to get her out! I wish I could have turned everyone on to the $22 Antec cases but that was a D&H Special and you gotta have an account there to get that. Last month they also had a deal for $42 Toshiba 500 Gb 5 year warranty drives and I filled a cabinet with those suckers. I am struggling to find room for all this stuff. Cindy has seen my space though I have rebuilt since she was here and its a lot better but this is still overwhelming.
  11. Well I don't know how it happened but I got away with deleting most of Device Manager like we used to do and installing Motherboard drivers and the system is perfect swap from Intel i-5 to AMD Fm2 without much of a hiccup and no issues I can find. I eventually will do a clean install but while I am waiting for the ram and Psu, no reason to panic now and I saved myself hours of tweaking! And ya know I see no difference in performance either and this unit is much more stable. No BSOD's, no freezes so far and the fact that it worked this way is absurd.
  12. To add you know Dizzy I actually had selected AMD FX-8350 Octa-core and I was thinking the last time I had an 8 core I didn't see a bit of difference and actually I am really liking what I feel on these FM2 boards as opposed to AM3. I know I am off mainstream thinking but I think you have to go with what you feel and I really think the FM2 boards have more punch. My son-in-law took one from me with only 4 Gb ram, because I couldn't find the right 8Gb to work with it so he was going to order 16 gb himself. On Saturday I cloned an Ssd drive for him and I swear that thing booted in 5 seconds (Win 8) but with third party start menu added and I forgot to cut back the Metro desktop I realized later. All he talked about was adding ram until he saw that and now he can't see the reason to add more it is so fast. My cpu is way faster annd with 16 gb and Ssd drive, I bet I won't see the screens change!
  13. Get with it, its white because the iphone is white! BTW my white tower has been dusted once in 2 years. My black towers, every 2 weeks.
  14. Those aren't refurbished are they as I saw some at that price that were though the ad was a bit tricky to read.
  15. If they stick to the plan, they will blow away sales of Windows 9 and make up for what they lost on Windows 8 and it sounds like they are in the right direction. Could it just be that Steve Ballmer retiring will mean more than anyone ever thought to this company now that we have a real tech in charge in Satya Nadella.
  16. I don't think I have a single client with Ms Office 2013 Pro version so I haven't heard a thing.
  17. I think it is indicative of the fact these prices are about to drop as there are so many huge price cuts lately on this item.
  18. Not to be outdone now Kingston 240 gb Ssd at an outrageous price : Kingston SSDNow V300 Series SV300S37A/240G 2.5" 240GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) and free shipping..... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820721108&nm_mc=EMC-IGNEFL072914&cm_mmc=EMC-IGNEFL072914-_-EMC-072914-Index-_-SSD-_-20721108-L0D
  19. My problem with T-Mobile and Sprint is they work here but very spotty. Best reception is Verizon and I would rather have nothing then deal with those clowns so the next best is ATT. I just got an offer on my existing ATT plan online which almost cut us almost in half what we were paying. I notice the "Rollover Minutes" were gone but I went for the money. So Linda and I with unlimited data pay $105 a month for the two and I had been paying $180 and bitching every month.
  20. I agree Dizzy and I was actually looking to buy Msi, but remember I had just ordered 16 Gb Corsair ram for the dead desktop and as much as I wanted to get away from Gigabyte, because that is the board that gave me nothing but trouble on the Intel systems, I wanted to make sure with 2100 ram, not acceptable to that many boards that that Corsair ram was listed as tested for the board I was buying and the Gigabyte was one of the few that had that listed. I would have preferred MSI or Biostar as I think MSI is making a big comeback and have always had great luck with Biostar T series boards so am ready for more from them.
  21. Depends. If the call is custom to suit them then the prices can well be higher but I keep stock to sell for quick needs and those are usually $5-600 and refurbishes $350-400 now that's tower mouse and keyboard.
  22. I knew you would like that one Bob! I have to look Cindy, its how I can compete and offer custom built pcs at the same prices as Dell and HP.
  23. I built almost the same thing for a client a few weeks ago with half the ram and it was amazing. A few years ago I played with the 6 core and 8 core cpus but never saw much difference in performance because there was nothing that could utilize it anyway and there probably still isn't and I like the Fm2 feel more so than the AM3s I have built so I decided to go this way. I was so happy to find a decent video card that wasn't the size of an auto glove compartment so there can be some room in there.
  24. Well that's great. Tonight I went to boot up main desktop and nothing! Fans and lights but no boot and I know the monitor works fine. Tried 3 psus and I can see where the Seasonic 750 is somewhat dead, 5 video cards, all kinds of ram and came to the conclusion the board is bad...I must admit since I went back to Intel systems I have had nothing but trouble so here is what I ordered which can use the ram and Ssd : GAF2A78MD3H Gigabyte Technology Mfr #: GA-F2A78M-D3HAMD Socket FM2, AD770KXBJABOX AMD Mfr #: AD770KXBJABOXAMD A10 7700K Blk Edition Fm2 Quad Core, R7250ACLF4 XFX Mfr #: R7-250A-CLF4Radeon R7 250 2GB HDMI.....
