Vista 32-bit, with AVG security, and using TDK DVD+RW. Tried to burn a file from within Media Player, got the message 'Error Code COOD10DA'. Downloaded and ran the Fixit utility, it said it had resolved a problem concerning 'media not being writable', then invited me to format a data disk. For the past few days i have been having issues with my laptop running super slow. It will let me log into my account but then if i try to open some thing e.g. &quotmy computer&quot it will take about half an hour to load then if i press anything it will just say &quotnot responding&quot its the same with any other program. It even takes about an hour just to let me press the restart button. I have tried using the troubleshooting tools but they have not helped. I'm not sure if its because of a windows update or a virus. I just installed MSE 4.2.223.0 in my desktop running Windows 7 Pro and noticed that all but one item is missing from the contents of the Real-time tab in MSE version 2.1.1116.0 installed in my laptop running Windows 7 Pro. In other words, the only item listed is "Turn on real-time protection (recommended)" while "Select real-time protection options" and all the opitions are missing. Is this the way it is supposed to be? Or did I have a bad install? View this thread

2nd home computer. Generic home built PC 5 yrs old. XP Pro, SP3. It's been running fine. Working fine. No hints of problems. Last night I was doing job work on it and I did a shutdown and went to bed. Got up this morning and went to turn it on and nothing happens. It appears no power. I have power to the strip. this am there was a screen which thank God I found out was malicious after looking it up on the internet. every day I do a QUICK scan with Microsoft Security Essentials why didn't it find the SERIOUS viruses? after I did a FULL scan it found two Malicious viruses. also in Microsoft it suggested resetting my IE, I'm not sure I should do this. how do I know if I do need to reset IE? it also showed doing a manual virus &amp spyware update mpam-feX64.exe download so I did. did I do the right thing by doing this? when I was watching the screen scan I saw NUMEROUS GAMES that I NEVER PLAY &amp DID NOT DOWNLOAD. How do I get rid of them? they were listed under the heading Publicphantom EFXREALDRIVE (games) what does this stand for and did it come pre-installed in my Toshiba Satellite L650 laptop? thank you for any help you can give me or direct me to where I can get answers to the above. Why am I getting the same solution 3 or more times a day for the last month? It is for the Microsoft Security Scanner (MSS, for short) solution to remove the Worm/MSIL/Necast.D, a known virus on my computer. However, every time I do a full scan with MSS or McAfee security suite, NO issues are found. View this thread

Noticed two updates ready for install on my ASUS RT this morning. The RT update went well, but the Office 2013 update failed. I opened the troubleshooter, which asked me to run as an administrator. I did that, the problem fixed answer came up and I attempted to reinstall. An update failure message came up and I ran the troubleshooter again. I rebooted, and then was able to install the Office update. However, this is now the only update showing on the update history, even when I click on show hidden updates....I've been vigilant in keeping current but am uncomfortable with being unable to access the full update history. Sir, I have Windows 7 home Basic. Unable to install windows update. ( error code 659 and 80070659.) Nor could I update any software. The message says" The system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation" I have tried almost all available options . Windows" fix it " fixed some issues but not worked. Hi, I have found i do not get a reply unless it is a new question so as i am still having problems i will post again. I am having trouble with the following updates:- KB2726535- KB2758857Both packages fail even after trying several times with the Windows Updater I tried to download and install both manual with a clean boot option (i know you will try and suggest it if i don't tell you i have already done it) both at the end say that this update has not been installed. I tried to fix this by using the System File Checker, but that tool couldn't find anything wrong with the system.
