  1. I have one similar to this. It is a must have.
  2. Microsoft has always had their own way of doing things. They never followed W3C standards and preferred to do their own thing. That caused sloppy web coding because IE would render a page no matter how bad the HTML was. If they ever get rendering a website correctly in Windows phone they'd have a killer on their hands.
  3. Howdy and welcome. Pull up a chair and make yourself at home.
  4. I come home this afternoon and my front porch looked like a computer parts warehouse. I have 5 drives, 1 motherboard and a power supply lined up in a nice neat row.
  5. Thanks for updating this with the fix.
  6. Microsoft has a history of following a bad OS with a good one. After ME came XP and we all know how good that was. After Vista came Windows 7. From what I've heard Windows 9 will be a real game changer.
  7. I seen this pop up in my inbox this morning. There is a nice choice for cheap SSD going on right now.
  8. That explains why I spent most of the day today rolling everyone back to Office 2010 after having just rolled out 2013 last month. Starting getting calls last night about this very error.
  9. Let me know how that AMD performs. I haven't used one in a while.
  10. I am changing when my contract comes up in October. I don't know who I'll go with, but, it will probably be AT&T. I would go with T-Mobile if they had 4G in my area or if it worked at all down on the farm in Indiana. I've been through the good days with Sprint and the bad. I get solid 4G every where I go. The problem is they turned on the new network in Chicago and while it is fast as hell the frequencies they use don't penetrate buildings very well. So in my office I have to position myself in one spot or calls drop and data is less than 56K modem speed. This started happening a few months ago when they turned on Spark in Chicago. Outside or in my house it rocks. Dropping business calls makes the decision to switch easy. I dislike Verizon. I had them for a year as a test to use along side Sprint and while the network is great the overages and throttled speeds made me drop them. My son as AT&T and he loves it.
  11. Another piece for my server puzzle.
  12. I have Sprint Framily with 5 phones. I get unlimited data because I was grandfathered in when the plan I'd been on for the last 15 years was discontinued. I to pay a fee for mobile hotspot on my phone only.
  13. I have nothing but problems with A-Data ram. I use G-Skill Ripjaws and I love it. I've had my share of problems with Crucial and gave up on them. I did have a Crucial SSD and it just died after about a year. It could have died sooner like many others, but, I didn't use it for a few months after I bought and by that time a bug in the firmware which caused it to die was fixed. Still a year with only a few months of service was poor. I have a !st gen Intel SSD that is still going strong after 4 years. I have been having problems with my external SATA enclosure since I updated to Windows 8.1. It is a driver issue. Drive worked fine in Windows 8. Once I updated to 8.1 I'd get random windows explorer errors. It drove me crazy until I ran a debugger and found that the SATA drives would at random times be seen as connected to USB instead of SATA. This as it turns out is a know problem with the 8.1 version of the drivers for Silicon Image chips. Since my card is dated there isn't an updated firmware or driver for it so I have to remember to not leave Windows Explorer open to any of the drives on the card. I would wonder if you have a similar problem with your USB controller.
  14. I just saw that one as I was looking for server memory. I've bought enough drives the last week. Good deal none the less.
  15. I bought this motherboard, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131886 a couple weeks ago. Once the E-5 comes down a bit more I'll buy a couple. I'm looking at memory for it now.
  16. They aren't in high demand, but, every once in a while you'll see a deal on them. I'd love to get an E-5, but, they're still a bit pricey. I'm looking for a couple E-3 V2. They are starting to come down in price.
  17. Just in time. I was getting ready to run my weekly scan. I think I'll wait now.
  18. Can't pass up deals like this.
  19. I am building a new server and little by little I am buying the parts. These 2 drives and the 3 I bought the other day will go into it. These 2 in raid 1 as boot drive and the other 3 in raid 10 for database. Now Rich, work your magic and find a deal on some Xeon processors.
  20. This is a pretty good phone and for the price it is even better. I like my iPhone, but, my next phone when my contract is up will be a Windows phone.
  21. Heat is a real killer especially with a laptop. Everything in a laptop is in a small space and if you are making it work hard by watching a video it can't keep cool. I would make sure there is room underneath and on all sides for proper air flow. There are laptop stands that have fans built in to help cool laptops. I would invest in one of them. While a cool room would be better you still should make sure there is adequate air flow all around it.
  22. I gone and done it. Bought 2 of them.
  23. I don't know much about these. I might have to open the pocketbook again. Can never have too many drives.
  24. Unbelievable although I can see both sides of this story. Obviously the dad thought he deserved preferential treatment for his whole family while the airline followed policy. When my wife and I travel she is on the A list because she travels a lot for work. I am not. So instead of her using the express check in and taking advantage of the perks she gets she has to go through the slow lane with me and wait to board until our group is called.
