  1. Form what I've read about it you would better off using the 32 bit version. I am ready to ditch Firefox and I am looking at Pale Moon too.
  2. I removed it after your post and I can now build a project into an MSI install package.
  3. I have been using pass phrases for years. It's always a phrase that only I would know and contains multiple words with every so many letters capitalized. Works well for. Easy for me to remember and hard to crack.
  4. That explains my issue. It also doesn't allow me to build an MSI package with Visual Studio.
  5. I had this problem and never did find a fix. I created a new user profile, migrated the settings and deleted the old profile and it fixed it. All the research I did about the problem never did give me an answer to that happened.
  6. This is the second time in a year I can remember Microsoft putting out a bad update. Last time they pushed an update to fix the update.
  7. This is real. I have a Home Depot card which I never used and got an email from them saying they would be issuing me a new one. I told them to cancel it since I don't use it.
  8. Nothing surprises me any more. The scammers will always find a way to take advantage of these things.
  9. I've been a twitter user for a few years. I don't use it as much as I did personally. I do use it to post the new topics from here to an account setup for this forum.
  10. I bought one of these a couple weeks ago to replace a bad hard drive on one of the employees laptop. I paid more than this. I might pick up a couple for spares.
  11. I have the same issue with my laptop. I bet it isn't completely shutting down. I just did a test on mine. I shut it down. I let it sit for a few minutes and hit the power button to turn it on. It booted to start screen in a few seconds. This laptop is fast, but, no way it should have started that fast. I shut it down again, but, this time I held the start button down until it went into shutdown mode. Waited and rebooted. This time it started normally. I know Microsoft has a fast boot setup in Windows 8. I have a feeling the problem you're having is with it. This some sort of sleep mode and to come out of it you have to hit the start button like you would for a normal start. Maybe your all-in-one isn't properly going into that mode.
  12. Interactive live tiles sound great. I hope they do it as well as it is done in Android. I hope software people add the function to software.
  13. I think Microsoft could garner a lot of good will if they made it a free upgrade. After following a great OS, XP, with a dud and then doing it again following Windows 7 a free upgrade could bring that trust back.
  14. Midori is a great lightweight browser. I use it when I boot to Linux Mint and love it over Firefox and Chrome.
  15. There must be a new generation of drives ready to be released. That is the only thing would explain these deals.
  16. I have to give AMD a try again. I haven't used one since the Duron days.
  17. I am liking what I've seen and heard. I only hope it is a killer.
  18. My contract is up with Sprint in December. I am going to T-Mobile or AT&T. I hateVerizon. Had them before and while the network was good the phone selection was horrible. Not to mention the horrid overage charges.
  19. I've been using a Surface tablet for a while. I am in the market to buy a Surface 3 to replace the original RT version I have.
  20. That's a pretty good deal. I haven't used AMD for a while so I just might buy one to check them out again.
  21. I used at as it was. I never tried it on Vista. I do know Microsoft made it a priority during the Windows 7 beta.
  22. Live discs are the best way to learn Linux. For years I was a Nix guy. Interned at IBM on AS/400 and System/38. Of course once the borg know as Microsoft assimilated me Linux was only run on servers.
  23. When Windows 7 was in beta one of the things they asked us to test extensively were the voice controls. I did use it a lot during testing. It was supposed to learn the more you used it. In my experience it didn't and in some respects the more I used it the worse it got. Once Windows 7 was released I put away the headset except for when using Skype. When I got my first iPhone i was leery of Siri because of my time using the voice recognition in Windows 7. Now I wish my computers had Siri or something as good. I use it for everything. I dictate text messages and emails instead or typing, make all kinds of voice memos instead of writing notes and any other number of things. Interestingly enough the more I used it the better it got. Now it even will pick up and correct mispronounced words.
  24. I had heard that Windows 8.2 was slated for this month or early September.
