SP3 will primarily be an update to all the fixes for XP.
It will add no new significant function.
RC1 seems to be having problems with some Antivirus
Programs and is having issues with hanging on
installation.

I would personally wait until SP3 is offically released
to install, and I would use it to slipstream a migration
of XP to a new machine.

Believe the phrase is "Did you just fall off the turnip truck?". Implying
ignorance due to lack of current input or current affairs. I.E. "country

I know what the phrase is you are referring to. I chose a different phrase.

it is left over stock.

---------------------

it is a fact that manufacturers
like automobiles, don't produce
a late model car at the same time
the new one/current one is out.

however, there are manufacturers that
produce different models of
their product line that do compete
with each other for sales. however,
unlike toasters, software and
automobiles do not since the
technology evolve.

in fact, you are welcome to
browse microsoft and see
if they are still promoting
the sale of win xp or office
03.

but if you honestly believe
that microsoft will produce,
distribute and sell winxp ver sp3
for the market place, then
enjoy!

the fact is that you
should be able to
do you own research.

the fact is that you
are unable to establish
an identity.

the fact is that you
shouldn't hijack threads
for your own satisfaction,
even though some mvp's
do it and set a bad example.

the fact is if you have a
question then post it as
a new thread. this is a
privilege you should
take advantage of.

the fact is that you seem
to have an expectation and
entitlement but it is unclear
who you think is responsible
to meet your demands.

the fact is the issue posted
by a o.p. is the objective at hand,
all else is a waste of time.

also, remember to be polite
and respectful, take the
objective seriously and avoid
the games. this is what
a professional is.

the last fact in this matter
is that i'm not allocating anymore
time this thread, kiddo's.

Haven't hijacked any and don't need to.

I always ask if I have a question.

Must be your misguided thinking.
I don't have any 'demands'.
However, I reserve the right to point
out some of your obvious flaws.

Why do you insist on wasting it?

I am no professional in any trade but make a
best can do effort in being polite which
includes pointing out your ridiculous
posts, comments etc.

GRRRRRRRREEEEEEEAAATTTTTTTT!

"it is left over stock"
Of course if you can prove this statement, please give us the source,
below are links that contradict your statement.

As is often the case your comparison with something other than
software, cars in this case, is flawed.
Newer cars for the most part are made on the same assembly line as
last years models with extensive and expensive retooling in between.
Software changes are insignificant by comparison.

"in fact, you are welcome to browse microsoft and see if they are
still promoting the sale of win xp or office 03."
Start here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/howtobuy/build.mspx
And:
http://www.microsoft.com/uk/office/howtobuy/default.mspx
There are many others, these are a few I quickly found.
You can easily find more by connecting through those links or
searching for the older products.

In case you missed it, many are still using older operating systems
that are incompatible with with Office 2007.
Office 2003 remains for a few reasons one being people may need it
with older operating systems.

"microsoft will produce, distribute and sell winxp ver sp3"
I never said they will, but they might.
You of course are free to ASSUME what you want.
Microsoft continues to sell Windows XP and Office 2003.
I have already proved much of what you said as wrong and you would
have known if you had taken a quick look.

This is not new with the release of Office 2007 or Windows Vista.
Microsoft has continued to sell the previous editions well past the
release of the successor.
