Well, Adam, I do not claim to be a self-made millionaire. In fact,
I've been dirt-poor every day of my entire life.
Nor do I claim any particular educational accomplishment, other than
finishing the 10th Grade in an ignorant State, during an ignorant
time briefly attending a local Junior College, and upon learning that
I had no particular affinity for any field of study, dropping out
after 1.5 years.
3) During the period which followed [mid-Sixties -- late-Seventies], I
was introduced to various things which gave me new direction in my
life.
4) This direction was not the one you have apparently taken.
NOTE that during the time I was "studying", I always got high marks.
So I am not unintelligent. I guess my mind is a trap for all sorts of
"facts", which stew around till they "taste" right, and make sense to
me. Many of the things I've since learned could never have been
taught in a University setting.
That is the substance of Life. "Life" is not stale facts stored away
in a dusty book in some muck-de-muck's mahogany bookshelves in his
ancient house. Life is LIVING. Living each day as it comes, as a new
experience, a new opportunity to learn, to grow, to live.
But apparently, I have a few things you do not, Adam:
1) I have a sincere desire to pass on the knowledge I've learned to
others.
2) I have a deep desire to help others, whether I get a return from it
or not.
3) I know that a kind and liberal man will reap the results of his
labors.
4) I can be very negative, as you can be. But eventually, I notice my
pride, and my attitude is corrected.
I could never be proud or arrogant if I had your bio, Adam, since I
truly care for other human beings.
Instead, I would use that bio, knowledge, and money to SHOW my care,
by using it to help heal a sick and hurting world, rather than
injecting sour and foul spirits into the minds of all those who read
such poison.
Perhaps you do, secretly. That is good. You will be rewarded for
your kindness and compassion.
If you don't, you will still reap your reward, like all other men.
A suggestion:
Perhaps you should take all that hatred, that vitriol for Microsoft
and put it in a book. You will probably sell a million copies the
first year, times being such as they are.
Do you know why I do respect you, to a degree, Adam?
Because you have an excellent command of the English language in a day
when it is chic to speak gutter English everywhere, in all situations.
Only a logical and intelligent man can command the language of
scholars. So I have hope for you yet, since a logical and intelligent
man cannot long be in his pride without also facing its evil. Or can
he?
That is a question only you can answer, Adam.
