So help them to set up an Alias filter. Why should Alias change just
because some people don't want to see his posts?
If their eyes offend them, isn't it up to them to hide their eyes from
what they are offended by?

Of course I disagree. When it is so easy to avoid Alias' posts just by
not opening them, never mind using filters.

Yeah, thanks to MS's proprietary file formats mostly. But that's
changing too. For the vast majority of home users, OO does more than
they really even need.

I don't read all of them, but I do read most of his original posts.

When dealing with the likes of you, Frank, and the rest of the MS
Fanboys? You guys don't come out smelling pretty from those exchanges
either.
When the sh*t starts flying, everybody involved ends up smelling like
sh*t.

You have your ebbs and flows when it comes to acting like a nutjob too,
Bill.
That includes most of the regulars around here, including myself.
So I'm gonna go with he that is without sin, should cast the first stone
on this one.

Then ignore it. I have to give Frank some credit here, he's done a
decent job of ignoring me for the last few weeks.
Can't you do the same with Alias?
Why not add Alias to your killfile?
If you need help figuring it out I'd be glad to help you out.

And I'll tell them the same thing. Ignore him. 99% of Alias' posts here
are in response to you idiots like you who are vainly trying to stop him.
Ya'll are your own worst enemies!

No, it's foolish that you defend an OS that you wouldn't want to risk
losing your own hard work on, over any other OS.

So you want to deny the minority, to suit majority opinion.
Are you an American?

And you think that doesn't happen? This is the USENET, not a friggin'
tea party. Sh*t happens. Deal with it.

If they have been using Windows since 9x then they have gotten used to
throwing away apps and replacing them.
Though I'm still hanging on to WinAmp 2.95 on my XP computer. )
I hate what iTunes has done to modern computer music players.

And it's here you show you personal bias. You are a windows software
developer who is afraid he can't make it in increasingly Open Source
computer environment.
It's the future dude. You cannot stop it anymore than a dutch kid can
plug up a dike with a finger.

I don't. It works just fine for me. And it would work for most home
computer users needs. Especially the security impaired computer
illiterates that are the average computer user.

No, you see mine!

And most people don't need to do what you do with your computers.
You should be open about that part of it. You aren't an average computer
user, and your computing needs are much different than that of the
average computer user, who would be quite content using Ubuntu on a day-
to-day basis, once it has been setup properly.
And installing and setting up Ubuntu 8.04 AMD64 was faster than setting
up Vista Ultimate x64 was for me. But then again I'm not the average
computer illiterate either.
