Yes t-4-2 your post did make sense. The saying 'a picture paints a thousand
words' is quite apt when it comes to trying to explain a problem to someone
but, like Ken, I also do tend to ignore posts that contain
attachments/pictures. The only time I don't ignore attachments/pictures is
when I have specifically asked for them and, in that case, I have suggested
that the original poster contact me direct via email.

Out of curiosity I did take a screenshot using SnagIt8 (installed on a VM)
and saved the image. After saving the image I copied the image from the
Virtual Machine to my Vista desktop. After clicking the attachment icon in
this post I successfully attached the image to the post (I have removed it
again prior to sending) so in that respect my copy of SnagIt8 will attach an
image to my newsreader post. But then again, maybe it is because I am using
Windows Mail as my newsreader rather than a web based mail such as Vista64?

Hi,

SnagIt 7.2x with XP and OE.

(1) Captured image can be copied and pasted to Wordpad, Outlook and Word
(both 2003) but not OE even document format is set to HTML.

(2) For OE, insert image method does work or use attachment method.

Regarding if one should use image files, my view is to use when appropriate,
and just like posting styles, understand how traditions were evolved but no
need to be restricted by one style. The purpose is for effective
communication, and that is what matters most.

Many people used to go to this newsgroup for sharing art works with image
files - microsoft.public.expression.graphicdesigner, no lecture or complaint
whatsoever. It is a quiet newsgroup now for other reasons.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Opinicus, Yes there is a SnagIt v9 (I'm using it) but I don't think it is
available to the general public at the moment.
