Top 15 things I hate about Vista

1 - My printer was not supported, even though it came with my PC, when I
bought it. So I had to download a vista compatible driver, & now the printer
may or may not work, when you need it. Same my scanner & tablet. (This is
EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING!)

2 - It keeps giving dialog boxes that says "USB device not recognized" even
though my printer, tablet, ect. has been loaded with the correct drivers,
that I had to download, because they didn't come with the devices. It also
occasionally says the device "is not" installed, when it decides to work, & I
can go open then the printers/other devices folder & it is there. (This is
EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING!)

3 - It commonly drops my internet connection, which I cannot get
back without rebooting. I never had to reboot to reconnect with XP. (This is
EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING & ANNOYING!)

4 - When I connect my digital camera, or music player, Vista automatically
opens a folder & starts downloading everything that's on them, even when I
don't want it too. (This is EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING & ANNOYING!)

5 - Dialog boxes keep popping up, even after I click "do not show me this
message again" (This is EXTREMELY ANNOYING!)

6 - My hard drive seems to be in use continuously, even when the system is
idle. WHY?

7 - Whenever I go to troubleshoot why a device or program isn't wanting to
work, it says it's "working properly" according to device manager, but they
don't
work at all or might work 5 minutes later & it seems to "pick" what program
it wants to work with. (I. E. If it works it might work with word pad 1
minute then 5 minutes later it might not & work with notepad then) (This is
EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING & ANNOYING!)

8 - Vista keeps telling me that it's "blocked some startup programs" but
won't let me unblock these programs manually. It also won't let me suppress
or ignore this message, it keeps popping up! (This is EXTREMELY ANNOYING!)

9 - I keep getting program error messages, that MS doesn't have any
solutions to fix them. (This is EXTREMELY ANNOYING!)

10 - I can't open more than one window/tab/ect. on my browsers or messenger
without them closing or messing up. (This is EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING &
ANNOYING!)

11 - I can be in the middle of working on something & the monitor goes off
then comes back on & a dialog box/bubble pops up & says "The display driver
failed, & has recovered" & it does this, I'd say 30-50 time in a day. When
the display driver is up to date & Vista compatible. (This is EXTREMELY
ANNOYING! Because when the monitor comes back on I most likly have a messed
up art piece or document!)

12 - It puts downloads & scanned things into whatever folder it wants to,
even though, I've set the folders that I want them to go to. (This is
EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING & ANNOYING! Because then I have to search for them!)

13 - It may or may not, run games, art programs, ect. when you need them to,
or they might not work properly, even though they are Vista compatible. (This
is EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING & ANNOYING!)

14 - It's hard to find compatible security, other softwares, games, or
devices that are deemed "compatible" with Vista. (This is EXTREMELY
FRUSTRATING!)

15 - It may or may not read burned CDs, USB, devices, or flash drives. with
files, music, photos, ect. saved on older windows versions. (This is
EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING!)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The bad thing is, in 2007 "ALL NEW PCS, MACS, ect." comes with some form of
Vista on them & I was unfortunate enough to have to get 1 new PC at that
time. I had to have a new PC, I was missing out on a lot of waiting art
projects.

MS if you read this, VISTA SUCKS! You should send out XP on ALL new PCs,
MACS, ect. with the option of an upgrade to Vista. Not just put it on there &
expect it to work right & people love it! It's so full of glitches, & messes
up hardware, software, ect.

My eight-year old printer works fine after installing the Vista driver - did
you research this before you bought Vista?

Did you research the hardware compatibility first?

Doesn't do that here.....

Have you set the Autoplay option that comes up? Obviously not.

WHAT "dialog boxes"?

Don't know - have you looked at Process Manager to find out? (Sheeeesh)

Sounds like a video card problem - did you research this before buying?

RUBBISH! I have NEVER known ANY OS (whether Windows, Linux or Unix) put
downloads into any folder other than the one you tell it to....

Rubbish.

That happens with ANY OS if the CD is not finalised - NEVER in my experience
with any other sort of removable media.

I suggest you pack up your machine in the box it came in, return it to the

Any post in one of the Vista groups which has hating Vista in its
subject line qualifies as a "troll" post in my book. It serves to do
nothing but stir up controversy. Classic trolling.

It means that what YOU "think" is a troll is not necessarily, if your only
experience is in this group.

You were the smartass that made the comment:

"I suggest you pack up your machine in the box it came in, return it
to the place you bought it, and ask the nice man to swap it for a
Gameboy...."

Troll? Maybe not. A typical fanboy jackass, you leave little doubt of
that.

Looked like classic venting to me.

Here are my top 10 hates...

1. Windows Vista
2. UAC
3. Can't undock start bar tool bars like Quick Launch.
4. Insists on showing media related columns in Details views in dialog boxes
and Windows Explorer even after choosing a different view and telling
Windows to use that from now on.
5. The new programs group listing on the start menu. XP was way better and
more attractive.
6. The extra stuff you were supposed to get with Vista Ultimate turned out
to be a joke and a major rip-off. Support for other languages is not a good
bonus feature.
7. Vista still doesn't write data to hard drives in a non-fragmented way.
The disk defragmenter utility is now even lamer than before and just as
slow.
8. The disk management tool for partitioning and formatting hard drives is
really poor and doesn't proved feedback on how far along in the format
process you are.
9. Internet Explorer 7 is total animal droppings.
10. UAC

qualifies as a "troll" post in my book. It serves to do nothing but
stir up controversy. Classic trolling.

Please do not respond to the troll Nonny anymore.

Possibly. But there's so much of that in the Vista groups - much MORE
than I can ever remember in the XP groups - that I've taken a
knee-jerk reaction stance on the matter.

In all my years online (coming up on 18), I've never had a killfile as
large as I do now - either by subject or by author.

So what you're really saying for 18 years you still haven't learned
how to exercise self-control and simply skip over posters and topics
that bug you. Oh, I understand perfectly. Lots of dopes here that have
that same handicap.

Hint: Real men don't need a killfile. Talk about having a crutch.

I equate people that use killfiles with the morbidly obese that have a
stomach stapling procedure because they can't stop shoveling excessive
amounts of food in their mouth even though they know doing so is
killing them. People that rely on killfiles are admitting that have no
self-control or willpower either.
