Yep, there is a palpable feel that MANY of Microsoft's customers are
so by necessity, rather than by choice. Ignoring the usual fanboy crap
'nobody forces you to use Vista' the reality is many users are users
only because their employer has decided to go with it or if for
personal use because they need Windows to run application X and they
are either unwilling or unable to switch to something else for a
variety of reasons. This builds resentment especially when Microsoft
is so poor at customer relations and now acts as if your computer is
their's to control.

Oh the irony of little Frankie numbnuts getting so upset over what he
perceives to be a "lie" when we all know Frank constantly lies about
everything. How does it feel doofus?

Yep, WGA in all it's versions, WPA and MS' total disdain for their
paying customers will be the downfall of Windows. It's the reason I'm
going with Open Source.

Sounds to me like you're describing Apple. Lord Jobs wants to control every
aspect of your computing experience. From where I sit, Microsoft offers
choices.

I agree. Apple is worse. But that doesn't make Microsoft good or offer
many choices.

And that does not make linux or ubuntu or any of the 300+ distros of
linux a real "choice". They're all basically the same.
They're all toy os for losers like you.

Let's think about this rationally here for a second Frank.

Under the hood, yes, all Linux distro's are the same.

But the GUI is what you see, and use, and have to interact with. There are
third-party program that let you skin the windows, but that's about it.
There's always a taskbar, with a Start Button/Orb & system tray & clock,
usually on the bottom of the screen.

Maybe Windows7 will have some truly new UI concepts (new to MS
anyway)....but I doubt it.

I personally hate the MS implementation of the desktop and taskbar so
much that I have resorted to writing my own shell for Windows to replace
explorer.exe as the shell and have used it for years.

Conversely, there are a number of desktop environments/window
managers/shells that can be used under Linux.

(Yes, some alternate shells have been available for windows for a long
time, like LiteStep, but those never took off, and it is absolutely NOT
because the MS UI is/was superior to it.)

Some are super lean. Others are feature rich and the user can choose
which works the best for them.

http://xwinman.org/

So yes, I would call this a choice.

I understand that's what it looks like, but unfortunately, my mother
brought me up to look for the best in people. Noone can be 100% idiot all
the time.

(Good or bad, I don't know, but I do believe in kharma.)

In fact, I even saw a post from Frank a couple of days ago trying to help
someone out.

I know, chance aren't good, but........

Bullsh*t! You don't believe in anything but lying and deceiving then
lying about deceiving.
We've all seen your "act" so don't try and pull that "holier than thou"
