Change in the forum software?

Yes. In fact since I don't use the other browsers and clean history of Vivaldi every time I close it, I suspect there is no browser cache.

I've also shut odd uBlockOrigin and allowed everything in noscript. Neither made a difference.

Today I was at 34 and marking all forums read lowered it to 30.

I disabled the theme I was using - no change. I checked cookies at two spots and they expire at the end of the session so when I log out, they should be gone.
I've opened and closed my browser quite a few times and I've clear the browser cache - again.

I'm now stuck at 34. And I suspect it will just keep increasing. If I mark forums read it lowers 1 or 2 but still higher than when I left.

Did the domain change fix it?

This is strange. I'm going to unistall it and reinstall to see if that helps.

I just noticed that there is no option to indent text in a post. Don't know if the old software had that option.

Domain change did not fix it. I started just now at 43 and was able to lower it to 37but I can't ever get it lower than my previous session.

This si the address I get for the Mark forums read
Code:
https://freepchelp.forum/f/-/mark-read?date=1514422209

Not sure about the significance of the date=

I'm having the same problem. I also tried the AWS link but it didn't help. I'm using FF in windows 7 premium.

Your link didn't help.
My mark forums read now shows as
Code:
https://freepchelp.forum/f/-/mark-read?date=1514490656
so it is changing but not ever going to zero and always higher than the day before even after it is supposed to be back to zero.
Here's what I saw when I arrived (start)
and after going through frontpage news, quite a few forums and marking things read, here's where I ended up (end).
With clicking mark forums read, etc. The count stayed at 44 no matter how many times I clicked the mark forums read.
I log out when I leave and I tried my 64 bit computer with Waterfox. I have the same problem on that.

I've looked at my profile so many times trying to figure out if I need to change something to fix this.

I might sign up under a nym I use elsewhere, zlim, and see if I have the same problem. If not, I'll then compare plodr's profile to zlim's and see if I can fix it.

Okay, thanks Cindy.
I'll hold off on creating another user name.
