  1. Microsoft's Skype voice and messaging app experienced a major service disruption Monday morning that crippled the app's core features for some users. The company has acknowledged that it's currently working to resolve "an issue that is affecting Skype in a number of ways" — but the problems have now stretched on for several hours. They're also being felt worldwide, so the issue isn't limited to any particular geographic area. The glitch is showing all contacts as offline, even for users who are actually logged in, making it impossible to place voice calls. Microsoft says the messaging side of Skype is still mostly working properly, though the company notes "a small number of messages to group chats are not being delivered." If you're not currently signed into Skype, you might have a tough time getting online while the problems persist. Users can also expect delays before changes to their Skype account (profile, calling balance, etc.) are reflected across the service. "We're doing everything we can to fix this issue and hope to have another update for you soon." Source : theverge
  2. Once I got used to Windows 10, I like it better but I do not use it for banking or online shopping because of the privacy issues.
  3. I'm having the same problem and I haven't had any luck solving it thus far. Perhaps someone else will be able to weigh in here with a solution. I have asked other tech/staff to take a look. Windows 10 is so new that there are bound to be multiple issues that need to be resolved. I'm sorry that I couldn't help.
  4. We have two Aldi's in our area and a third, larger one, is supposed to open at the end of next month. I agree that their prices are very competitive.
  5. I didn't realize that. It's funny, it seems as if Walmart has their fingers everywhere.
  6. You need the newest Nvidia driver if there is one. There may not be, a lot of people have had this problem. Yes, I would tell the customer to reserve Windows 10, Mike.
  7. I had no idea that you had Walmart stores in the UK, Nev.
  8. I've had this cable for a little over four years now without an issue. My daughter also has the same cable, no problems.
  9. Yes, choose reserve and as an upgrade, the user will be able to keep all files and usually all software. You may come across the occasional program which isn't compatible but that's not the norm. They recommend backing up all personal doc's, files, photo's etc. but I have yet to have a problem with losing any.
  10. I have never investigated this, Lina. With my back and my knees in such bad condition, my husband, (thankfully) has taken over the grocery shopping for me. I know that Dougie and Evie get their groceries delivered but they are in Australia. My husband shops at BJ's or Sam's once a month and uses Shop-Rite or Walmart for fresh meat, dairy and produce weekly.
  11. I know that's what it says but every upgrade that I have done has been available within a couple of hours or less.
  12. They do make USB extensions, Lina. I have this one for my printer because it's located four feet above my desktop. http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-USB-Extension-Cable-10-Feet/dp/B00001ZWXA It will work for your keyboard. Although I would never order anything else made by Belkin, I've found that their cables are very sturdy and the price is right.
  13. I don't know about Nev but I pay my credit card balances off through my banking web site. Almost all of my purchasing is done online. (Except for groceries.)
  14. It's free as long as you do the upgrade within the year and as long as there are no major hardware changes. That's why MS states, "supported for the life of your device". http://www.pcworld.com/article/2923867/microsoft-will-charge-for-windows-10-upgrades-after-one-year-freebie-offer-lapses.html
  15. If the user upgrades to Windows 10 before July 29, 2016, it is free, they don't have to purchase it. If they decide within 30 days of the upgrade that they don't wish to keep Windows 10, it's a simple downgrade procedure. After thirty days, if the user wants to downgrade, they will have to either do a clean install or if they made an image file, they could use that.
  16. I would try to restart without stopping the updates just to see if they continue.
