When windows 7 updated on my computer, my display would not fit my screen. I can just see the top line of the taskbar and some icons. I have tried system resore and it worked once, but after new updates it has changed again. Any ideas? View this thread

I connected Office Web Apps with Sharepoint 2013, the conenction is OK, the zones match, the integration is alive, but I can't open any document in the web apps. I tested manually to open the ecsxlstest.xls file, and it doesn't open indeed. Any xlsx file opens OK, but any xls file - does not. Lets Suppose I forgot the password or the password was changed by sombody else for one of my accounts. Would I be able to change my password when I enter Safe Mode with Command Prompt by using the command: NET USER [Account Name] * ? Hi Guys, Having trouble running Windows Update on a friend's laptop. The OS is WIndows 7 x64, model is Samsung NP530U3C. SP1 was installed. When running Windows Update, the system returns an error code 8024D00A, and there is no solution suggested. Tried different network, and did something such as renaming the SoftwareDistribution folder or restarting Windows Update service, but nothing worked. Can anyone help? View this thread

After highlighting one of my hard drives in Windows Explorer, when I then do an F3 Search, the results I get are often very confusing (many of the reported files contain the sought ASCII string in neither the file name nor the file contents). Is there a way of controlling/telling the Search tool whether I want it to a) search for matches in file names only? b) search for matches in file contents only? c) search for matches in either file names or file contents? This is particularly vexing when I'm looking for a specific file including a file extension. For example, an F3 Search for "hal.dll" yields a slew of files, not merely the one and only "hal.dll" file I seek. It's as though F3 Search treats the 'dot' separating file name from file extension as a logical-OR operator. View the thread

I have Vista and Microsoft Security Essentials. If I go to Control Panel and try to access &quotChange startup programs&quot I keep getting a message saying that Windows Defender is turned off. As I understand it MSE requires it to be turned off so how do I get rid of this annoying message which prevents me from going any further? The windows update short cut is continuously appearing in multiple numbers at the right side of the task bar and i cannot download updates? The problem occurs for all the available updates. when i click "download and install" it is not responding that is it is coming back to the same window. I did not made any changes to the computer prior to use. This problem started when i connected a pendrive that contains a AUTORUN virus and all the folders and files inside the pendrive appears to be shortcuts. Now the windows update shortcut is appearing at the right side of the taskbar. and more than a 25 shortcurt are appearing within 5 minutes. and they are keep coming one by one. And i tried the FIX IT and windows update trouble shooter. When i move the cursor to the number of shortcut they are disappearing. And keep coming one by one after a few seconds. Security update KB2840149 making my system stuck on the blue "configuring windows screen" indefinitely. My only recourse is to remove the update by booting into safemode and using a restore point. Okay, so my computer is way too slow and I just want to hurl it at the wall cuz it's acting so stupid... Running XP SP3 on a Lenovo X61 laptop. Installed latest version of IE 8, just for this purpose (I normally run Chrome). My major regret: that I removed MSE in response to a failure to update, and now cannot reinstall it! Hv spent about 8 hours on this, to no avail. Steps taken: All removals done with REVO: MSE itself, Windows Defender, Live OneCare. Used Regedit to removal all references to MSE, as well as any remnants of other antivirus that was removed long ago (Symantec, ZoneAlarm), antimalware (includinig SpyBot, Adaware), etc. searched for all references to McAfee, found a couple, and removed them. Used Fixit, and yet another cleaning tool. Ran CC, to clean up registry. Deactivated all startup programs using selective startup, except Microsoft programs. Ran mseremoval.bat. Must have rebooted a dozen times. Nothing helps! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. View this thread

I keep getting error code 80070426 re updade downloads. I have tried restoring computer to last date of updates - did not work - tried the let us fix it at Mircrosoft - did not work - downloaded Mr Fix it but every time I try to use it, it cannot operate because of error code 80070426. Rang Microsoft spoke to a technichan he suggested I take it back to the people I bought the computer from as I purchased the computer with windows installed. When I attempt to set up the Netgear PS101, the Windows 7 laptop cannot find it. A Windows 2000 desktop does recognize the server. I also suspect the drivers for the HP722C may not be Win 7 compatible. View the thread
