Another "feature" of Vista, unseen in W2000 and before: Formatting the

partition on my CompactFlash card produces 6 reserved sectors, that

means the boot sector (ok) and 5 additional sectors (bad).

Microsoft Windows CE 2.0 hates every FAT system having more than the

usual 1 reserved (boot) sector and only offers to format the card

itself. This is my good old Casio A-20 handheld.

So far ... the WinCE 2.0 writes only a minimally filled boot sector, no

text like "FAT" in there. While Vista (and W2000) can access files on

such a volume (partition), it is unable to check the file system because

the check does not detect it as FAT.

Excellent compatibility!

Best Regards, Ralf
