Posted September 7, 201014 yr Is there any kind of way to transfer a W2K8R2 license key from a server to another? I have searched Microsoft License webpage and study slmgr.vbs but I can't find the way to do it, if exists. Thank you
September 7, 201014 yr FPCH Admin You can uninstall on the old server and then install on the new. You will have to call Microsoft to transfer the key. If the key is from an OEM install then it is tied to the server it was installed on. If it is a retail key then you can activate on another server as long as you call Microsoft to activate. October 2, 201014 yr Hi, I have 1 windows server 2008 R2 installed in my office by my last IT guys. The issue is, the windows 2008 are not activate yet and the 30day activation has been end. Can i activate it now? is there any issue that i will encounter if i didn't activate it? Please be inform that I have a open license for this windows 2008.
