Posted August 21, 200816 yr [Crossposted to IE Security and Windows Update newsgroups.] The correct newsgroup for Windows Update issues (as I pointed out in my reply to your original thread) is microsoft.public.windowsupdate. Your original thread in IE Security newsgroup: http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.internetexplorer.security/browse_frm/thread/b6c5b934f7ebd29b Did you try KB943144? > I received a response to that original post from PA Bear, and followed > his > suggestion found in [KB906602] - "How to troubleshoot common > Windows Update, Microsoft Update, and Windows Server Update Services > installation issues." I also pointed you to the WindowsUpdate.log and http://support.microsoft.com/kb/902093: Did you find any Errors in WindowsUpdate.log associated with those failed updates? I also pointed you to free support options (https://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?gprid=6527): Did you open a free support incident? A boatload of updates were released on 12 Aug-08, one of which replaces/supersedes KB950759 (released in Jun-08): Are you being offered these updates now? What anti-virus application or security suite is installed? What anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)? What third-party firewall (if any)? Were any of these applications running when you installed WinXP SP3? EDIT: In another thread in WinXP General (http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.windowsxp.general/browse_frm/thread/ffd2df033114a7fb), you state that Norton 360 was recently installed. When (date) did you install it? Did you upgrade to Norton 360 from an earlier version of a Norton application (e.g., NAV 2004)? -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-IE, Mail, Security, Windows Desktop Experience - since 2002 AumHa VSOP & Admin http://aumha.net DTS-L http://dts-l.net/ Ed Wood wrote: > I posted the following message on the > microsoft.public.internetexplorer.security website on 8/1/08.
