windows locks up upon exiting everytime

everytime i open a window, while exiting out of that window that screen will

lock up. you can open a new window but that window remains blank and if you

try to close it again it brings up the "non responding" window and eventually

it will close but then brings up the "send" "dont send" error message to try

and find a fix. i have read this is a spyware issue and have run adware

multiple times and have norton 360 running but brings up nothing. can anyone

advise on this situation or a fix for this issue.

running windows xp service pack 2
