I am getting some events in the Application event log, and some searching

leads me to the File Replication Service.

I am running Windows XP Pro, with SP3, and I don't even HAVE the File

Replication Service. Is this normal? The service doesn't exist.

I don't NEED the FRS on my XP Pro system, if that matters. It's not

normally logged in to a domain, either. (Occasionally it is, but usually

not.)

The events are 1085 from Userenv, and 1202 from SceCli, with 0x5 Access Is

Denied.

I'm mostly wondering about the lack of the FRS, since the troubleshooting

steps for the 1202 and the 1085 want me to look at the NTFRS key in the

Registry (which is not there). I would be happy with the FRS installed and

disabled.

Thanks for any info.
