Posted August 12, 200816 yr Hi All, I tried Alex's suggestion to change the registry and had no clue what figures to change when I reached "Local.......EMDmgmt" point. At this point 8 folder open - 5 starting with _??_FlashMedia...... and 3 starting with _??_USBSTOR..... eg. follows: _??_FlashMedia#MemoryStickDevice0#5&20ade69e&0&002H-b6bf-11d0-94-00a0c91efb8b}-0 _??_FlashMedia................ .. .. .. _??_USBSTORE#Disk&Ven&Prod_USB_DISK_20x&REV_PMAP#074B12D2C0B38&0#{53f56307-b6bf-11d0-94f2-00a0c91efb8b}PrivateData-3907613553 _??_USBSTORE.................. _??_.......... On clicking one of the above the following on the right hand box is diaplayed: ab (Default) REG_SZ (value not set) CacheSizeInMB REG_DWORD 0x00000000 (0) CacheStatus REG_DWORD 0x00000000 (2) DeviceStatus REG_DWORD 0x00000000 (2) DoRetestDevice REG_DWORD 0x00000000 (6) LastTestedTime REG_QWORD ................. PhysicalDeviceSizeMB REG_DWORD 0x00000ed(237) ReadSpeedKBS REG_DWORD 0x00000b18(2840) RecommendedCacheSize REG_DWORD 0x00300000(3745728) USBVersion REG_DWORD 0x00300000 WriteSpeedKBS REG_DWORD 0x000007b4(1972) Something like the above is displayed...I have no idea what figures to change. Thanks for your reply/s. Regards SM Original Question below: Hi Folks, I have a sandisk M2 8gb memory card with an adapter for the card reader. I use the memory card/stick in my sony mobile phone. Now, I tried to use the 8gb M2 card with the adapter in my sony laptop's card reader to "Speed Up My System", incidentally my laptop has 2gb RAM. But, Windows-VISTA's ReadyBoost response was: "The Card Does Not Have The Correct Speed" and cannot be used! I was told that the memory card should "USUALLY" be the same as the laptop's ram memory. So, is it the incpmpatibility of the amount of memory i.e. 8gb:2gb, or is it that M2 card is not fast enough to be used as extra memory boost? Many thanks for your reply/s. Regards, SM
