"Not Formatted Errors"

On my XP Desktop I get the "Not Formatted Error" whenever I try to read

either a floppy disk or a USB stick drive. I have no problem reading the

exact same USB drives on either my XP laptop or my Vista Ultimate 64bit

desktop.

When I try to format a floppy on the XP Desktop (from either Windows or DOS)

it eventually fails.

This error has only started recently.

I have ran a full virus scan, full Spybot 1.6 scan, and SFC /Scannow with no

issues showing up.

All suggestions welcome
