Cannot Get Backup Schedule Wizard To Work!

I intalled server 2008 standard R2 on my new HP proliamt ML330-G6 server today.

everything appeared to be running fine, i had set the role of the server as a file server and shared folders over the network etc....

i have just gone to configure the backup and when i run the Backup schedule wizard it comes up with 'Unknown Error (0x80042401)'

has anyone seen this before, and know what i have done wrong and what can be done to remdy the situation???

i was hoping to have the server all up and running today!
