Mount Point Manager Remote Database

I am running Windows XP Pro and Kaspersky Internet Security with Kaspersky,s

anti-virus and firewall , all of which are up to date.This week the

anti-virus program checking my computer and rootkit freezes at 4% when they

reach Mount Point Manager Remote Data Base in System Volume Information. I

have been using Kaspersky for years on this computer with no problem What is

Mount Point Manager? Is this something Microsoft has in an update? Can I do

without it? If so, how do I get rid of it?
